Sounds dire. In the early 2000s, a friend of mine unexpectedly heard from a guy he'd briefly met a few years before, who wanted to drop by.
The guy came around and, sure as eggs, started to Amway him. He left unsuccessfully. The guy was Mervyn English, a brother of ex-Prime Minister, Bill English.

In the early '90s, I ripped up the Amway catalogue a flatmate's friend left in our lounge.
A week later he came around and asked if we wanted to buy anything. He spotted the ripped up catalogue and started whining.
I then chased him out of our flat with a cricket bat in my hand. Problem solved.

Next time you bump into Brian Wafer, ask him to tell you about when Motorhead played New Plymouth about 25 years ago. Among other things, he had to organise the rider for the band and their road crew.
It's one of the most fantastic, hilarious, rock 'n' roll stories I've ever heard. You'll love it.

The strongest National supporter I know told me last week how worried he was that his grandson had applied for so many jobs and was still unemployed. I think this comment will infuriate even him cause he believes in work & knows people aren't sitting on the couch.
