I've picked up some followers lately so I'll do a new intro post - for many years I ran a very funny epic fantasy podcast called Crudely Drawn Swords, which you can listen to right now. I'm also a musician, programmer, game designer, horse trainer and apparently now novelist? I'm learning to draw.

This is totally insane, clearly sociopathic, and approximately median landlord behaviour.

Of course @friends-table.bsky.social fans will be aware that "Fleggebit" itself derived from the Old Perpetuan, meaning literally "a bit of a flegg."

Today's Word: Flibbertigibbet
A silly, scatterbrained person; used to describe someone who talks incessantly without much sense. But in Shakespeare's day, referred to a foul demon or imp possessing a person. From Middle English "fleggebit," a name for a fiend or devil.

I heard there was a Mambo 4 Lou Bega played and displeased the Lord.

Mandatory age verification to "protect children" is not to protect children. It is to deanonymize every adult speaker and consumer of speech online so the government can retaliate against speakers and speech they don't approve of. For instance: apnews.com/article/trum...

I still think about the twitter post that said "Took the battery out of my carbon monoxide alarm because all the beeping was making me groggy and giving me a headache" and how relentless the concerned reply-guys were for literal years whenever it got reposted. Being a funny woman online must suck.

I mean if he didn't want to get caught for an incalculable amount of time he shouldn't have stepped into the Quantum Leap accelerator.

Determinism was right, there is no free will, but 50 quid seems quite reasonable.
A sign reads "have you got a will? Only £49"

I finished the Dark Lord Davi duology from @djangowexler.bsky.social today and they were a good time. An isekai story with a funny, brash, genre-savvy narrator, snarky asides in the footnotes that made me laugh out loud more than once, and underneath it all; solid characters and a big heart.

It's hard to pin the blame for the disaster that was the Fourth Crusade on any single individual, but one thing we know for certain is that the pope was Innocent.

this is sociopathic behaviour and I think we need to treat it as such! just because something has become easy to do doesn't mean it has become less creepy, or more acceptable!

Two configurations: sausage and heraldic.

There's some great Parisian catacombs action in Strange Beasts by Susan J Morris. Also the premise of Jonathan and Mina Harper's daughter, and Professor Moriarty's daughter teaming up to hunt monsters, while Van Helsing junior keeps getting in the way is a lot of fun.

I love that their question mark was introduced because the Letraset letters were slightly too small and they had a weird gap after the name when they designed the cover for their first EP.

Of course a lot of shows - especially D&D ones where everything needs lots of prep - don't really give us that writers' room feel anyway, but that sense of collaboration and discovery at the table is hard to beat.

I have noticed this trend over the last few years and a lot of people must like it but I really enjoy the part of AP that is playing the game as well as the performance side of things. I enjoy hearing the players as writers' room, and this style of show is less compelling to me without it.

I haven't really paid attention since Infernal Love but it's nice that they're still going.

Finally a properly unhinged literary opinion. Excellent work.
