there's a USMNT friendly near me in November and I think I'll go just to have a meltdown about the World Cup that won't cost me 4 grand a ticket
a pre-meltdown
ghostesq.bsky.social
every game I seesaw between "we're so back" and "we're cooked"

This didn't *not* happen in the 8th movie

They should do a Fast & The Furious movie where Dom is hitting the Nos on a submarine and it somehow ramps out of the ocean and over a sickass explosion

Poch idk about that vest
Been looking at it for a while now and it feels like too much with the hoodie
ghostesq.bsky.social
I still think he's our guy, and if the only reason is "he's not getting enough playing time with his club" that doesn't seem like a good enough reason especially since he's playing here now
idk they don't pay me for this what do I know

US soccer, let's watch the end of a men's friendly

"forget it, I'll do it myself"

One day, everyone *will* have always been against this

Thank you, everyone
This book wasn't really my learning a lot of new facts, it wasn't as much of a discussion on what we all learned
But El Akkad says everything I'm thinking but with better words and with personal experience
And I just really wanted people to read this book

from Bergen-Belsen alone
there are thousands in the rubble
there are children starved who will never recover
there are no buildings, even
two years of this

I keep thinking about the concentration camps that were liberated at the end of the war
And how many of those inmates died right after anyway, 14,000

6. I'm going to revisit this in the next few days, and I hope I'm wrong, but I want to know how many more Palestinians die during the "ceasefire"
This book was published in February of this year, and it might as well have been yesterday
This isn't a question I'm just screaming

And it breaks them when they talk to a former soldier saying that stuff
And here if they talk to a Jewish person who calls this a genocide
the anti-Semitism line is a very hard sell
ghostesq.bsky.social
it's this weird, misplaced guilt, like we couldn't protect all those people so now we've decided a new group of people we can't protect
Just keep passing out failure to a new group
ghostesq.bsky.social
you have one job!!! And I don't know how you don't side with the journalists who are getting killed!!!!
ghostesq.bsky.social
it took me years, but being able to say even the palest, slightest criticism, like "I think the wars killed a lot of people who did nothing wrong" got turned into somehow you were allowing the thousands dead in the towers to be forgotten
ghostesq.bsky.social
The author himself needed to do it in this book
I'm not doubting his sincerity in describing the violence of October 7, not at all
I just almost wish he didn't have to
That an Egyptian-born immigrant, a journalist, living and writing in the United States, doesn't have to "condemn Hamas"
ghostesq.bsky.social
The country made every Muslim proclaim that they weren't a terrorist for decades
And if you expressed any concern over the past 2 years about Palestinians, civilians, it was "do you condemn Hamas?"

5. Based on my age and being a teenager/young adult during the beginning of the War on Terror, I am seeing so much of the same language, am I reading it correctly?
Palestine is not Afghanistan is not Iraq, but the words used to describe them? #ghostwithaspine

"bullet-involved child casualty" or some shit, God, I'm so angry
Reposted by it's coup for my family

for sure
"we would never be involved in a genocide so this isn't a genocide"
ghostesq.bsky.social
Mid chapter 9 for me, page 168, the author quotes the Guardian and the Economist
The first is "food aid-related deaths" for shooting starving Gazans
The second is "as with many events in the war between Israel and Hamas, the facts are destined to remain fiercely contested"
