Looking through online auctions, I'm struck by Carl Moll's masterful exploration of flowers, especially dahlias. In this work from 1920s, Moll has accentuated the texture of the petals with different tonalities of white, cream, yellow, and pink to capture light.

„Nach der Schlossruine“. Das klingt seltsam. Warum? Wenn diese Präposition als Richtungsangabe verwendet wird (und nicht etwa zeitlich, vgl. nach Ostern), dann in der Regel mit Orts- oder Ländername (nicht aber: in die Schweiz). Warum steht hier also nicht „Zur Schlossruine“?

Lovis Corinth zog 1901 nach Berlin und wurde Mitglied der Berliner Secession. Walter Leistikow vermittelte ihm ein Atelier in der Klopstockstraße. Am 14. Oktober 1901 eröffnete Corinth eine Malschule, die bald erfolgreich wurde und die unter anderem Charlotte Berend und Erich Lasse besuchen sollten.
