I tend to stick with name brands in my Giallo intake: Argento, Bava, Fulci. I really don't mind the 'style-over-substance' essence of giallo, but the balance can be very tricky.
One of my personal favourites remains The Haunting (1963)...still scares me. Del Toro's Spanish output is fantasitc. Where do you stand on giallo films?
It's a bit like listening to Zappa or Captain Beefheart. When it's good, it's damn near trascendent, but you might have to sit through a lot of confusion in the meantime.
