If I have two Switch 2's in the same place they need Wifi to connect to each other I think? Or can you do local multiplayer without wifi?

I started playing with my kids (3 in the age group) and it's easy to connect across several devices/machines (without it requiring advance graphics), didn't cost to join/play, and the game play was simple and fun with incentives to earn (or pay) for items. Lately, a lot of Dandy's World. Not a gamer
