Absolutely epic thread. He was a former head teacher of the secondary school I went to. Just an old picture on a wall with the other former heads. No post-nominals. No fuss made. I expect now all this is known the school would make a bigger deal of him. It's the kind of school that would.

My controvertial opinion is that in addition to lightfastness and opacity, watercolors should have an indicator of how well they'll show up on a cheapass scanner. Would make my life easier.

This pamphlet admits some colors are fugitive but argues were used in mixes and not exposed to light, so the issue is minimal.

Ever think about how so many tech people believed in the Singularity, when the progress of computers + AI would become a self-reinforcing loop, while here in the real world many of Silicon Valley's problems are caused by the fact that tech innovation has slowed to a crawl?

I just printed a picture of it on A3 paper, laminated it to make it shiny, and it worked surprisingly well. Had people coming up to see if I had a giant cassette in there.
