He/him/ia. Economist convinced that business-as-usual is not the answer. Have data & evidence. Applied to be academic, but didn't know secret handshake. Paid my dues as consultant, then public servant. Now back in comfort zone of cricket and spreadsheets.

Now, don't ask 'where will we find the money', Govt creates $ with votes. Ask instead, where will we find the resources? Do we need fewer people doing bullshit jobs and more well-trained kiwis teaching and doctoring? Well, put up wages and design some taxes to rebalance the economy ffs! [Ends]

CEO-to-worker pay ratio in 1965: 20-1

CEO-to-worker pay ratio in 1990: 75-1

CEO-to-worker pay ratio today: 280-to-1

Trickle-down economics was always a sham.

Nothing has ever trickled down.
For economic idiocy the "money doesn't grow on trees" parable takes the cake for me😠😡.
Irrespective of the politics (which I'm happy to leave to others more expert in that field🙂), the economics of this letter is just plain irresponsible misinformation.

The homilies ... "we can't afford it", "debt is bad" abound😡.

But, we are not stupid ... ganeshnana.substack.com/p/spending-b...
Final figures in for Māori wards "referendum"😠. A resounding margin of nearly 74,300 (over 7%, 53.7% v 46.3%) in favour❤️.

But, of course, lots more to do.

Toitū Te Tiriti.

Take care all, keep well, be safe, stay strong.

Kia kaha.
Christopher Luxon has been saying shit like:

"The worst thing that New Zealand needs is more tax, more borrowing, more spending -that's what's got us into the mess," he said last month."

for the last 3 years and everyone hates him, do you think it's even occurred to him no one believes him? #NZPol

We need to replace more than 3 decades of manufactured debt hysteria, with sound, robust, prudent *economics* as our basis for fiscal management.

Spending, borrowing, taxing - it's called fiscal policy

Someone else has broken their silence and issued a statement saying they have

"full confidence in the current leader and I myself have no plans or aspirations for a leadership position".

They added they will not make any further comment on the matter.
Note we have yet to be told how much they will cost us.

But remember, whatever number we are told, please add $671m to account for what we have already spent and got nothing in return.

What a bargain 🤔! ☹️😠😡.
Votes for Māori wards

District and region roll of honour - from top to bottom
Aotearoa ... where are we heading💔 ...

... hoping 'ratepayers' that voted for 'candidates/parties' promising rates caps/cuts are not surprised when

* sewers spew direct to ocean
* toxicity levels of tap water & rivers soar
* blocked drains flood continuously
* communities require gated security

😢
Yup ... its costs us all ... definitely in the long run ... (some of us are hurting now) ... and, yup, I too wonder about the level of thickness ...
And similarly awful for future generations, not to mention the planet.😢
Saddened, that after yet another election day, I wake to have to concede (again) that - as one great person once said - "NZ is racist af"😢😡.

But - on the glass half-full side - there were some heartening results yesterday ...❤️

So - my friends - keep well, be safe, stay strong✊🏾.
... and, of course, could add the anti-3-waters brigade in the same Venn diagram ... 😠
... my inner voice is way, way more ... shall we say, colourful ...??
... continuing with my restrained voice ...

... the Venn diagram of anti-co-governance and anti-Māori wards votes would be ...🤔...

... sadly they deal out a lot of harm for the rest of us to cope with ... 💔😠 ...
