It flies under the radar because it is overwhelmed by the sheer repulsiveness of the physical destruction of the east wing, but there is no way that a president should be allowed to use private money to change public property. It circumvents the power of the purse.

The US became an oligarchy under reagan, but only trump made that obvious to all but the severely ignorant & cognitively deficient.

Congress didn't appropriate money for it.

These companies gave Trump the money to demolish the East Wing.
They are financing it.

So We the People pay LM in contracts, and it uses some of that money to gift trump a gilded ballroom that is "not paid with taxpayer money" so LM can have influence over the child king to receive more handouts from We the People.

This is how oligarchy works.

If it wasn’t for SNAP (formerly known as food stamps) I wouldn’t be alive today. Most of my childhood it was the primary way my mom put food on the table. We still went hungry some days. I also used SNAP when I was homeless in 2019. Why have a government that won’t protect its most vulnerable?
