Desperately want to do a follow-up post tomorrow on the Ghoulish account informing everybody our imaginary fired employee committed a family annihilation last night after realizing they could no longer support them but slightly terrified of maniacs showing up at the shop
fuckmaxbooth.bsky.social
Tbh this wasn’t meant to be a “trolling” thing. I just forgot the internet has zero joke comprehension. Whoops!
fuckmaxbooth.bsky.social
most people on instagram seem to get it, except for the reporter who DM'd me asking if it was a joke. facebook is about 50/50 people who get it and people who are absolutely fucking pissed. Threads is like 97% people want to kill me about this.

we're getting torn to shreds on Threads about this post 🫡

Like @fuckmaxbooth.bsky.social I have decided to go back to blogging (go read Max's blog, it's great). Been trying to do this semi-regularly. I don't want to post on Substack but I do sometimes want to ramble on about writing or editing or whatever, so here you go: editrixemma.com/on-submissio...

I was trying to get a little more organized with my new role and get on top of my submissions inbox. It might be helpful to see what things are like on the editor side of things. As an author it is ea...

So the employee was fired for a comment that "upset" people who have no idea who you guys are or what you do? Strange choice. Don't give in to the bully culture because I assure you you didn't gain anything and lost an employee, because the snowflakes that whine still aren't going to be customers. Be careful.

in yes they were terminated immediately without any
severance. it's kind of sad since this means they will also lose their insurance, which is very bad timing as their child was just diagnosed with a horrific disease. but what choice did we have 1m Like Reply

PLEASE READ: Yesterday someone who no longer works for this company shared a meme on this page with the caption "Fuck Christopher Columbus." Many, many people who have never followed our account before nor shopped at our store were offended by this post. If fact, you could say they were quite triggered. We *did* approve this post, but only because we were told it was directed at Chris Columbus, the director of MRS. DOUBTFIRE (1993). If you were personally hurt by our ex-employee's poor judgment, please forgive us, and let us know how we can make it up to you.

second thought: people use dunking on shit as indicators of taste but if you ask them to discuss works they love and why, you will hear a very small repeating pool because they don’t actually have taste or a grounding in the field beyond dunk material

Thoroughly enjoyed @nadiabulkin.bsky.social's "She Said Destroy" - efficient, merciless, and savagely alive, Bulkin's anthology dishes out short spec horror whose shadows will linger. Looking forward to picking up "Issues with Authority"

Hell yeah re: ISSUES WITH AUTHORITY: "This collection dabbles in the paranoia and abuses of power happening in our everyday lives. Bulkin takes the dial of these concepts and turns it up to the max." 🎚️

Man, “Cop Car,” the first novella in Nadia Bulkin’s new collection, ISSUES WITH AUTHORITY, is such a banger. Her novellas always surprise me with their depth of character. And little tendrils of thematic connection reaching out between the stories—self mutilation, possession, resistance to authority

I’m going to keep harping on this book until everybody I know has a copy, I swear to god. I already gave a copy to a student because she was complaining about the lack of “people like [her]” in fiction and I’m like, Oh man just wait
