most people on instagram seem to get it, except for the reporter who DM'd me asking if it was a joke. facebook is about 50/50 people who get it and people who are absolutely fucking pissed. Threads is like 97% people want to kill me about this.

So the employee was fired for a comment that "upset" people who have no idea who you guys are or what you do? Strange choice. Don't give in to the bully culture because I assure you you didn't gain anything and lost an employee, because the snowflakes that whine still aren't going to be customers. Be careful.
