Welcome to my book of philosophy, "Maybe Don't;" it has one doctrine, where you fucking don't

"There's no voice acting" hard pass, then. I still own my copy of FM3 for the PS1.

Huh. The Front Mission 3 remake like... came out? Was it any good? I vaguely recall people being unhappy with what they did to the in-game internet.

As I continue to play Super Robot Wars T, I am struck by something

Every pilot has slightly altered pre-combat dialogue if who they're attacking is an AI pilot or not

The MOST COMMON thing anyone says is some form of "Well, AI pilots make predictable moves and are easy opponents"

I appreciate that the Duodecim chapter is "Lightning realizes the entire thing is stupid, something the other protagonists couldn't figure out 11 times in a ROW to that point, so they have to shuffle her off screen"

Also her "Go back to your stupid void and stay there" intro w/Exdeath

saving them for something longer-form but the wildest observation I had was I think I saw Gaia from ff14 in there as a playable?!

I’m not quite sure how to put this, but Battlefield 6 would be a helluva lot more interesting if it really had a forcefem dynamic.
A screenshot shows a tweet by user Grummz. In the top tweet, Grummz expresses disappointment, saying:

> "They got me.
> They f-ing hid it. All the marketing buried this stuff. Sneaky.
> Players are complaining about gender locked characters, and how audio is full of women screaming during firefights. You are forced into being female for some roles."

Below that is a previous tweet from the same user dated July 31:

> "Battlefield 6. Not one woke trope in sight.
> Gaming is healing."

The tweet includes a screenshot from a military video game showing a tank in a city environment with soldiers in combat gear.

I can’t be the only person thinking Bobby looks like a 50 year old woman in this panel

"But sometimes it's possible for a tank to actually win"

Don't give me that David Sirlin shit. You are one player among four and even if you CAN win, the other people are sitting there twiddling their thumbs for the enormously long time it's gonna take. Have some fucking courtesy.

I think I get PEAK ANGRY at FF14 randos when you're in a 4-person dungeon, there's a near-wipe on a boss, and the tank is trying to solo a boss from 75% instead of just deliberately dying so everyone can start over. It is as close as I get to breaking my taboo on using certain types of insult.

I've just been introduced to my university's new "Faculty Misconduct Sanction Ladder Matrix," and let me tell you, things are going GREAT in higher education right now.

I have committed to doing "fighting game culture" for my Games and Culture topic in the spring.

That... took more doing than I anticipated, emotionally. I got some trauma! But times have changed, for them and for me.

SORRY: I AM FINE this was a thing that happened long ago

Picking up a book I need to cull some readings from, seeing it spattered with blood along the top edge, and realizing this is going to be incredible environmental storytelling someday for someone.

Ahaha yes this was years ago, and even at the time was more annoying/confusing than dangerous, but thank you for asking <3

Yeah, David's drumbeat on this when it would come up was "relationships change all the time, and for a huge variety of reasons you'll never know about." So I have to remind myself that it's the lack of data that my anxiety spins into the narrative of "people leave you b/c you're bad."
foxharper.bsky.social
Just this idea that people are only nice to me either out of pity, willful disbelief, or actual ignorance of how “bad” I am.

Realistically that’s not true, but after however many years of big shifts in my social sphere, it FELT more true than ever.

For a lot of my life I’ve felt like my relationships (friendships etc) come with a timer. It always felt like “person gets sick of me eventually and leaves (or worse)” was an inevitability; just a question of “when, not if”
