Of course – that's why I wanted to let you know. I've been annoyed at them for quite awhile for not using alt text, so I'm happy that they're trying now. And I didn't want to reply in the thread, that's why I sent a separate message to only you, so it wouldn't be seen by anyone else.
@tyrotcm.bsky.social (Psst🤫 – MW just started including any alt text at all. I think this is the very first time they've done it! Maybe give them some positive reinforcement for making progress, and scold them later if they don't improve?)
I'm pretty sure he doesn't know or care who built the White House. He just wants to build his monument to himself (the enormous, gaudy, hideous ballroom) there and the White House was in the way.
He is planning to die in office, and then leave it to one of his kids. Ivanka might be the country's first woman president. 🤮
It's all being paid for privately by the billionaires who want favors from him.
He needs a place to keep all that gold crap he put in the Oval and.
I don't agree – in this case I think he knows exactly what he's doing, and he's doing exactly what he meant to do.
Was it all put into safekeeping for his presidential library, like the jet that the taxpayers are going to be renovating and adding millions in security features to?
No. The disgusting cretin took down *all* of the East Wing. 💩🤡💩
I've been expecting the loss of free and fair elections in the US.

"The president has placed proponents of his false claims into government jobs while dismantling systems built to secure voting, raising fears that he aims to seize authority over elections ahead of next year’s midterms."

Trump critics are flooding the company that is demolishing part of the White House with one-star reviews. M-headquartered Aceco LLC is facing backlash for destroying a portion of the East Wing, which houses the first lady’s offices, to make way for President Donald Trump’s $250 million ballroom.
"The Trump administration stopped updating a database tracking the costs of the country’s worst disasters. A group of scientists has revived it."

Interesting. I'd love to hear your stories some time, if you ever feel like writing about any of them. (Here or dm or text)
Well, she's an ally of the ballroom's architect, so the whole comment about people's concerns (obviously *she* has no such concerns) is disingenuous.

I'm going to have to make more use of the 🤮 imoji, because the entire situation – and I don't just mean the ballroom – is making me sick.
Don't give him any ideas. He'll do it as soon as he thinks of it and can have his minions come up with some excuse as to how it's perfectly legal.
Right, they were the cheap plates in those days. I bought a set for my first apartment in 1966 and I'm still using them today. And they still look like new. One of the best bargains I ever got!
I'm still using the set of Corelle dishes that I bought for my first apartment in 1966. And they still look just as good – I did manage to break a bowl in a freak microwave accident once (trying to use it as a cover), but the rest have almost no chips or scratches or anything after six decades!
I don't believe there is any such thing as supernatural – the very word belies the possibility of its existence – but sometimes I think about Hamlet's reminder that "There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio, than are dreamt of in your philosophy."
🤷‍♀️
I'm almost convinced I have poltergeists. A few times, after extensive fruitless searches, I've found things in places I never would have put them (ask me about my glasses!) or right out in the open where there's no way I could have missed them, even with my restless ADHD eyes.
I'm sorry if I sounded harsh – that wasn't my intent. By the time I explained the situation I didn't have enough room to soften the message.

Thank you for learning!
At least you found it. Stuff regularly goes missing around here, thanks to my ADHD habit of putting things down in the wrong place, and then being concealed by clutter. There are some things I think I'll never find until I move.

Free: The Right-Wing Myth of American Heritage

...mythology these conservatives are spinning is historically delusional. The founding fathers were...people from different histories and backgrounds who coexisted...bc they didn’t have any other choice but to do so.
