The EPBC reform Bills are NOT progress, they're worse.

Here is what the Australian insurance industry thinks we should do about climate breakdown. It's okay, so long as we are also rapidly reducing emissions and increasing carbon draw-down.

NYC Mayor Zohran Mamdani studied at Bowdoin College, where he co-founded the campus chapter of Students for Justice in Palestine in 2014.

AUS PM Anthony Albanese co-founded the Parliamentary Friends of Palestine group in 1999 when he was a backbencher. Hmm. 🤔 #USPolitics #auspol #FreePalestine

We really are mugs.

We're being robbed blind of our own natural resources, government allows it (corruption or willful ignorance?) and to add insult to injury, they pay no #tax!

Australia's the second-largest LNG exporter in the world, but Australians have to pay through the nose for their own gas!

And on top of that, we're giving half of our exported gas away for free!

“Instead of pouring more fuel on the fire with billions in fossil fuel subsidies, it’s time the government taxed the fossil fuel industry to create a National Climate Disaster Fund."

It was a great speech, pointing out all the substantial shortcomings of the government's legislation, being rushed thru with little scrutiny.

The #Environmental Protection Reform Bill 2025 is WORSE than the #EPBC Act!

#auspol
Disappointed by the govt’s rushed push to pass a 1,500-page environment bill without proper scrutiny or consultation. This is a key chance to protect nature & embed climate accountability—but the bill falls short.

The Luxon Government's surprise move to gut the Zero Carbon Act has upended six years of cross-partisan consensus on climate change.

They are unfit to govern in 2025.

That 1 in 3 Australians are suffering from food insecurity - in one of the most affluent countries on the planet - is a sign of political failure at all levels of Govt - and that media is not recognising this is also a failure of their responsibility in our democracy #auspol

Poverty exists because public resources have been stolen and given away.

Our economy should be measured by how the bottom 30% are doing in the supermarket not how the top 1% are doing in the stock market.

Charity is an admission of government failure.

We're moronic about our sovereign resources.

We are merely real estate agents for global landlords.

And as this LABOR government 'redesigns' the EPBC Act NO ABORIGINAL LAND COUNCILS HAVE BEEN INVITED TO THE TABLE.

Mmm. Voice referendum fails, big rare earth mins deal, EPBC GUTTED. 🤔

@albomp.bsky.social & ALP are the equivalent of drug dealers except they sell fossil fuels. They support the supply, dont care about the damage & then wipe their hands of any further responsibility citing they don't control what happens to it once it's sold. Too lazy to create other revenue streams

Because Australia gives so much of our gas away for free, Japan gets it so cheap it makes a profit selling it to other countries!

"We are disincentivising Japan to do anything about their emissions."
