I understand the impulse of vigilance, I understand wanting to be ready for anything, but you need to be accountable to your own anxieties.

If there is no time-table for when something will happen, so it can keep sliding further and further into the future without ever happening, it’s a fantasy.

I can only speak for myself, but the most “violent” I’ve seen is a dude throwing a sandwich at a guy. A frog dancing after getting pepper balled.

This is making the administration have to lie more, *while* in a deeply unpopular position. That doesn’t do nothing to public opinion!

And like… if the win condition you have set for them is “they get to go on TV and blame protesters” then SURE MAN, they win FOREVER, but that it’s largely happening *without* the protesters going along with it is relevant if you’re not just fucking surrendering to them.

when is that going to manifest? Because, as far as I’ve seen, they’ve been doing the “blaming violence on protesters” part broadly *without* any protesters doing violence

Excerpt from the quoted article, which reads: I can’t count the number of times I’ve tapped the tiny button with three vertical lines right next to the tiny button with three horizontal lines, which can be a problem, because one of them pauses your game and and opens in-game menus, while the other kicks you out to your game library to launch a new game without pausing your game at all. If you press the library button a second time, it doesn’t take you back to your game, so you probably have to long-press the Xbox button to get back to your game, but not the Library button or the Control Center button because those will summon AI assistants instead, and if you understood everything I just wrote and found it reasonable then boy do I have the operating system for you.

This is, to me, the core of “many people are saying” thought, which has so many people in the United States in an absolute choke-hold.

It doesn’t matter if many people are saying different things *about* a topic - if you aren’t paying *that* much attention, you just hear “politics is going bad”

When different sides to a conflict can agree about part of it for their own, different reasons, we call it an "incompletely theorized agreement." Critiques about inequality, racism, etc on the left & reactionary panic about migration/race & gender on the right generated such agreement re: democracy.

The objects are all at various distances set against the black background of space. Most galaxies appear as fuzzy ovals in white, orange, or red, but a few have distinctive spiral arms. A slightly larger, very bright light blue spiral galaxy is at center. To its left are several bright white blob-like galaxies that are members of one galaxy cluster. On the opposite side of blue spiral galaxy is another, slightly smaller set of bright white galaxies, part of the second galaxy cluster. There are many thin, long, orange arcs that follow invisible concentric circles. These orange arcs, easiest to spot on the left, are background galaxies that have been stretched and distorted by the foreground galaxy clusters.

Webb near-infrared data combined with Chandra X-ray data of the Bullet Cluster show the same overlapping objects as the first image. A slightly larger, very bright, light blue spiral galaxy is at center. To its immediate left and right are two large bright pink splotches representing X-rays. The right pink area has a rounded nose facing right, where it is darker pink, and fades to the left as a triangular shape. This is referred to as the Bullet. To the far left and far right, next to the pink regions, are two blue regions representing dark matter mass. The left blue region is a large, long oval at an angle. The blue region at right is a far smaller oval. There are two large dashed circles. At left, the dashed circle largely covers the blue and pink, and extends beyond them at left. At right, the dashed circle covers the pink bullet and the blue region, but extends wider than both for most of its circumfrence.

it seemed to just run out of battery overnight, since it wouldn’t turn back on even after being plugged back in for a minute.

When it did turn back on it didn’t jump back up to “full” battery, so I’m hoping this charge-thru it doesn’t fuck anything up and I can just know my phone won’t die at “50%”

My phone is currently charging slow as hell, which is honestly a little reassuring? I seem to have gotten a really shitty batch of charging cables last time I spent on it, and they’re very good at getting me up to “100%” for a while only for my phone to unceremoniously die after
