Allow me to introduce myself:
The CIM is such a fabulous race too!
Chilly run this morning. 37° at the start. @joeposnanski.com & @mollyknight.bsky.social talking baseball (the live #PosCasts tremendous, SWIDT) were in my ears. Fun 7.5 km.
Fat man in a shirt that says Union College with a Nike swoosh stands with his arms apart at his side smiling at the camera.
I am very proud of my 1204 week old son.

(If 30-40 year olds are boys, 20 year olds should be measured in weeks & months.)

(A 12 year old girl, though, is mature enough to be a parent.)
I think there needs to be a reboot of “Knute Rockne all-American” just so I can use “win one for George Gipp” and people under the age of 50 will know what the hell I’m talking about.

Elise Stefanik is scrubbing photos of herself accepting awards from the vile Young Republicans caught in the Politico group chat. She supported every single one of them in New York State.
Some master race, amiright?
“Peter Giunta’s time working with New York Assemblymember Mike Reilly ‘has ended,’ the Republican lawmaker said. Giunta served as chair of the New York State Young Republicans when the chat took place.”

I first heard it in Austin in the mid-Aughts but I think Ted Lasso really made it part of the lexicon. It’s my understanding that it was more prevalent in AASE before then.
Between Sugar and Texas is the Reason playing New York shows this year, my Gen X music nerd heart has grown three sizes today
Me too! The Lark Hall Show?
Bob Mould at Lark Hall. A man with a guitar stands in front of a curtain. There’s a spotlight on them. He is wearing a T-shirt. He is bald. He is middle-aged. He is a rock God.
Is this one of the guys that was indicted after that infamous party?
Why do people believe it is acceptable to attend hearings from a car? I average around three Zoom hearings a week and I always manage to be at my desk for them. It’s not difficult. (Yes, it’s outrageous that he said that but come on, my dude.)

He says he didn't mean for the judge to hear the insult, but she did. And she's not amused.

The irony of a white guy being gleeful about stealing land this close to Columbus Day isn’t lost upon me.

If you don’t give it to us, we’ll take it is both very cop coded and very East Greenbush. I hope that Jill & the Board tell Conway, “Fuck you, make me, & seize at your peril.”

I would also challenge the necessity of this on utility grounds. “Nice to have” is not legitimate use or public necessity.
I took a nap today. It was lovely. I take a quick nap most days & I also work out most days. I guess what I am saying is that I don't need this type of negativity in my life, Outside.

Post-Run Naps Are the Best, but Are They Good for Us?
We asked experts why we get sleepy after long runs, and if taking a nap is the best move

It has been one of my favorite topics of conversation for more than a month now. I am delighted by many things but this is more delightful than most of them. Also the mosquitos.
Who is this article for? Who is the intended audience?

I really think it is for spouses, family, & friends can share it with the runners in their lives as some sort of journalistic coup de grâce.
The snark is strong here. I can only imagine how this embarrassment will resonate with a group of people who are thin skinned to the point that they are still re-litigating “slights” from the ‘80s.
