Hey YEG, if a 1,000-year-old Italian street can accommodate a fully protected bike lane, so can any street in Edmonton
I miss him.
The #yegbike community came together to honour Dr. Markland — a beloved ICU physician, cycling advocate, and friend to many — who tragically passed away in a mountain biking accident last month.

Let’s remember his kindness, passion for health & cycling, and his kindness.

I was prepared for Roe. For years I was prepared for Roe falling. I was not prepared for “the 14th and 15th Amendments preclude enforcing the Voting Rights Act because it’s anti-white discrimination.”

Any white grievance you have? SCOTUS is here for you.

But Black people? We can go fuck ourselves.

Right you are! I saw the USA flag, before I noticed the "designed in Australia". Thanks again.
Screenshot of the Cycliq website, with a yellow circle marked around an icon of the US flag and the words "United States". It is in the bottom left corner, white font against a black background. Above that, in black font against a grey background are the words "Designed in Australia", overlaid with a lime green circle.
Any Canadian companies you can recommend? (Cycliq is USAian)
Great initiative. The G&M story is paywalled. Any chance you could give us a precis re: what the GPS data showed differently from what the cops intuited?
So, an auction of Hudson's Bay Company possessions is happening on Nov 19, 3pm Toronto time. The catalogue is full of beautiful things we cannot afford, but also some great historical example of Canadian artists from the early 1900s and later www.heffel.com/links/archiv...

I just got back from a trip to The Netherlands. You can't visit there and come away thinking bike lanes don't work. They don't work here because we set them up to fail.

Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. I support micromobility. And kudos to our local Lime franchise for trialing winter bike rentals. BUT: Don't make me 311 you!

(Seriously, Lime need to give their staff & users better direction re: where to park them.)
#Micromobility #Urbanism+
Screenshot of a complaint to the city of Edmonton vis the 311 app. It includes a photograph of four Lime bikes, parked at metal bike lockup stations. There are no chains between the bikes and the stations. The text of the complaint reads: "Lime bikes BLOCKING public bike lock ups. The rented bikes do not need to be locked to something, but their staff keep parking their bikes where we need to lock up our bikes to prevent theft. (I know it's Lime's s staff because I've seen them, and users never park so neatly).
I'm surprised it's only 58%

The UCP are madly trying to privatize so as to profitize from public services. But Canadian identity is as strongly wedded to #public education as it is to universal #health care.
(After that, it's hockey, our national public broadcaster & film board, mail & anti-racism)
A new poll found 58% of Albertans’ sympathies are with the Alberta Teachers’ Association, compared with 21% who side with the government. #ablab #abpoli

Given that the mayor is just 1 vote at council, let's hope the support for the only progressive candidate (Knack) is also echoed by support for progressive councillors, especially: Paquette, Salvador, Wright, Janz, Porritt, Stevenson, Liu, Maggay, Morgan & Rutherford.
