My horror varies from eerie to disturbing across several sub-genres. I'm richer than I've ever been, but that's not saying much since I spent most of my adult life teaching public school. At least I can take my daughter to lunch without taking out a loan first now! #HorrorWritersChat

Oh right then here we go, if it glitches I'll wait till it's back up then fire the next.
Can't say fairer than that. Hi #HorrorWritersChat, let's talk riches. Or poverty. Moral or cash, I don't mind which.
Horror is one of the more egalitarian genres I think. More room for poor...

No links please.
Question One
Assemble, horror bods!
Tell me what kind of horror you write, and how poor are you - financially or morally? You choose....

Wanting what someone else has. Envy. Jealousy. Resentment. That's some fertile soil to grow a horror story in. Whether it's your fellow humans or creatures coveting your wealth (in whatever form), beware! #HorrorWritersChat

Hmmmm…so far my characters have been largely middle class or poorer, which makes sense because so have I! I am writing a spoiled rich dude in my upcoming Gothic romance though, which I think will be fun! #HorrorWritersChat

#HorrorWritersChat Q3.

Who do you scare? As a writer, it's our chance to bite back, perhaps.
Q3
Do you write horror that scares the poor, the wealthy or everyone equally?

It really does vary from story to story for me. But that is part of what I love in zombie stories--the real monsters are often still human. #HorrorWritersChat

I try to scare as many as I can. But hey, I write what I know, so it's often gamers, socially isolated folks, etc. who may get scared by my work

I kinda go for both. Funnily, I have a good example in Broke - She is one of what I call The Broken - People who, out of desperation, fear, or other reasons, took a deal with an Eldritch god, costing them dearly

Why do one when I can have both elements play off each other?

I mainly write supernatural horror and slashers, although I enjoy virtually any type of horror subgenre. I'd say I'm more financially poor than morally poor at the moment! 🤣

Once again, plugging my wiki. So long as you aren't a big company and give credit to me for what is taken, it's pretty much free to use. I'll link to one of the world pages, the one most linked to my horror work:

#horrorwriterschat The protagonist in my novel feels scarcity on an emotional level due to her lack of meaningful connections with other people.

#HorrorWritersChat, this Spooky Pickle has some things to pimp!

I've got some poetry books. One is even spooky & Halloween themed! Called The Shadow on the Wall.

I'm also trying to get enough followers on Fairy Seasons to get a top hat!

#HorrorWritersChat, hmmm.... I think determination is the scariest of all.

You could be determinated to live, to beat the horrors, and fail. That's the scariest.

Then, there's the determination of the horrors to get you...

So, I suppose desperation since they could be loose synonyms.

#HorrorWritersChat, I try to write all different kinds of characters and scare them.

However, there are certain people I do want to bite back at. I'm personally a fan of revenge horrors - more of a haunting rather than absolute gore.

#HorrorWritersChat, it depends on the world I'm building. There could be an abundance but, something (mainly rich a-holes) might hoard things for themselves.

Or, perhaps the scarcity is a reflection of things I've witnessed: lack of boundaries, lack of healthy affection, lack of resources, etc

I write many kinds of horror! Some is oddly comfy. Some is definitely not.

I dibble and dabble in several subgenres.

As for riches, I'm better off than I was as a kid, but am missed paycheck away from drowning.

Morally? I'm morally rich AF. For the most part.
