I may not agree with what you say. But I will defend to the death my right to make fun of you for saying it.

Are 13, 35, etc the channels it’s on? Why are they listed in that order?

Yeah, I knew he was good, but not THIS good.

Old enough to remember when scenes like this would have been unthinkable in America. (It was 9 months ago)

Add TWINLESS writer/director/co-star James Sweeney to the lengthy list of filmmakers who made movies where they got to make out with hot people. I salute you!

TWINLESS is really good. Dylan O'Brien as a dude whose gay twin died, meets a gay fellow twin-mourner at a support group. O'Brien is unexpectedly fantastic, playing many complicated emotions with heartbreaking realism. The gay-straight friendship hits home for some (me). Made in Portland!

The fun thing about protests in Utah (I learned last time) is that there will be some signs with the bluntest profanity and others with scripture verses.

Utah! Come protest this Saturday! If that seems a little too European, just pretend you're doing a Pioneer trek.

This weekend is tight for me. Any chance you can hold it till Monday or Tuesday?

The online ones are, but the not-online ones aren’t. My mom, for example. Lots of people’s moms. (Facebook doesn’t count as online because very little reality makes it to Facebook)

The adults who are most obsessed with Harry Potter also seem to be the adults most likely to have genuinely not heard about J.K. Rowling's anti-transgender positions. Which I guess goes along with the "I want to live in a fantasy world" mindset. Why read the news when you can think about wizards?

I WOULD NOT ENJOY: calling it "leaf-peeping"

Doesn’t a “ceasefire” involving Israel usually last about 48 hours? Maybe, as Harvey Keitel said, let’s not start [shaking] each other’s [hands] yet?

Here’s a better one, imo

The fact that top Republicans are already fearmongering about, lying about, the No Kings rallies this Saturday, across the US, tells you how worried they are about public pressure and protest against their reactionary, autocratic, anti-American agenda.

Yes, it's their job to get more reviews. What I'm saying is that "pwease help us got on Wotten Tomatoes!" isn't a good reason. "This movie is great" "Your readers will want to hear about it!" Those are good, professional reasons to encourage a review. "Help me help the film get more publicity" isn't
ericdsnider.bsky.social
I don't agree that a publicist's job is to tell critics how to do *their* jobs.
ericdsnider.bsky.social
People writing to critics, "please review our movie and post a review on Rotten Tomatoes to get our score up!" was the saddest thing I saw regularly.
alissawilkinson.bsky.social
I don't always reply to the pitches I receive from publicists (because I have a job that I do and if I did, I would never get to do my job). But here is a tip for aspiring publicists: Critics do not "write a Rotten Tomatoes review." No critics do this.
