This is something that gets so lost - the National Guard has a REAL purpose and job… which they’re not doing when deployed to cities to “solve” fake problems.
Texas is preparing emergency resources for wildfires and floods. The Texas National Guard should be THERE — not in Illinois.

We stand ready to support their return home so they are best positioned for helping Texans respond to any natural disasters.
Abbott activates emergency resources ahead of growing wildfire threat, flood risk in Texas
With expected growing wildfire danger across Texas and the potential for a flood risk this weekend, Gov. Greg Abbott is activating more state emergency response resources Friday.

NEW: Income isn’t supposed to play a role in how much housing assistance FEMA gives families.

But in some North Carolina counties, the highest-income homeowners received two to three times as much money after Hurricane Helene as those with lower incomes.

Arduous and Unequal: The Fight to Get FEMA Housing Assistance After Helene

🦑 This is one of my personal favorites because my grandparents inhabit its spirit. And in a time where immigrants are being vilified and traumatized by the U.S. government. Many of us descend from immigrants - they brought us to this moment.

I know we keep focusing on Colbert and Kimmel as we should, but we also need to remember there are hundreds of people who work for these shows who also just lost their jobs because of this bullshit, and most of them are probably not millionaires.

🦑 Climate change touches everything - energy, environment, economy, national security - it will be great for so many sectors to come together. We often live in our siloes... if you're coming to #ClimateWeekNYC, connect with my boss, @charlotteghudson.bsky.social!
🦑 We are coming to #ClimateWeekNYC! If you will be there, connect with our Executive Director, Charlotte Hudson. We just wrapped up a call for proposals for Climate Resilient Fisheries and had a massive response. And that's not we have planned... #ClimateAction #Sustainability
