I think people may assume black and white manga is that way because it's cheaper or a meant to be a proof of concept and not its own medium.

It never sat right with me that Super Buu and Omega Shenlong aren't in DBFZ (though I understand the asset requirenents for Buu to work) but I think Daima Goku is a one-off thing.
