I'm cynical but passionate and optimistic about the future. I'm into landscape fauna ecology especially in the arid and semi arid zones. 😁 PS not a huge fan of cat and puppy photos.

Time to "piss-off" these Charlie Kirk wannabe (and Charlie Kirk himself, if he was still with us). They can spew their vile divisive rhetoric to the simple of mind elsewhere.

There is an incredible video on LinkedIn showing a brown rat catch a bat, posted by Anja Bergmann.

This is why black rats, brown rats should be regarded as an invasive predator on the same level of cat and fox in Australia. They have a wide range of impacts we have ignored for too long.

So, #fossilfuel and #mineralresource sectors demand punitive measures against #activists and for them to face #consequences for their actions, and yet, somehow, they demand and get exemptions from consequences for their #criminal actions.

As much as I love the sight of a Frogmouth, real-world pressure is on birds like Baudin's Black-Cockatoo, one of two species of white-tailed black-cockatoo being driven to extinction by indifference from government and industry sectors (mining, agriculture, development). Vote for the Ngolak in 2025.

Time for another #AwesomeBirds #WildOz edition. This distinctive jobbie is found throughout mainland Australia, but rarely sits still. Often in pairs, these dim sim sized champions can be tricky to spot, but once you key in on their sharp notes, you’ll notice them all over.

Could someone check with Zali if she is a member? If she's not, would that mean Parliamentary Sports Club is bereft of actual sports people? Should they rename it the Nameless Faceless Fat-arsed Parliamentary Hacks Club?

And, to be honest, if you do not care enough, then shut-up and take the opprobrium you will receive as the extinction drivers for these species, without a single word in response - you have earned the label as the destroyer of the future.

There is no longer a guarantee their populations can recover, but... if we actually do what is needed, at least we will not be "pissing our social licence against the wall", to use a slang expression.

There are options available to conserve both species. There have always been options to conserve both species. It's just it is always a minority who care enough and act to try and save these species.
