NAO 98% of homes that had external wall insulation installed under the schemes set up by the previous government have problems that will lead to damp and mould.

Nearly a third, or 29%, of the homes that were given internal insulation also need fixing, it said.

NEW: There’s a disaster unfolding in Alaska right now. And no major network is covering it.

The remnants of Typhoon Halong battered western Alaska overnight. Homes, with people in them, have literally been swept into the Bering Strait.

At least 20 are missing. No comment from any federal agency.

Hyperbole doesn't actually match the detail of last minute amendments nor tackle deal with the bigger problems in the housing market.

One week before almost the very last stage of the Planning and Infrastructure Bill, the government are tabling over 60 amendments to their own Bill (this is after all the scrutiny from Commons and Lords committee stages).

It is the Government & Treasury that decide to manage the Sovereign grant in this way. This was a matter that I tabled an amendment on during Committee Stage of the Crown Estates Bill as I was concerned about these kinds of issues as more FOSW is developed.
