To everyone who says, "But this won't matter": *MAKE IT MATTER.*

You have that power! This is not inside baseball and your friends and neighbors will likely be appalled. And if they're *not* appalled, don't be cynical yourself. Take the lead, give the cue.

Every word of this is worth reading. These people are not outliers in young MAGA leadership. The person you are when you think you can get away with saying anything is the real you.

Two paths diverged in a wood, and I–
I took the one more traveled by;
Because the wood is still a full ecosystem and leaving the maintained path can damage it,
Also I don't want ticks or wet socks
A photo of an open section in an autumn forest, there is a rocky dirt path on the right and a half-formed path through tall grasses and possibly reeds to the left.

Just so everyone is clear, the main issue in the Supreme Court voting rights case tomorrow is whether it's racist against white people to enforce the Voting Rights Act.

I'm dead serious. We live in incredibly stupid times.

They asked if they should put the space in to match my birth certificate when I got my newest one, and I had to pause for a sec cause I'm on my 6th license and I think that's the first time it's been possible.

Yep. I had a clerk get grumpy at me when I was getting a car title cause my last driver's license smashed my middle names together (at least all my name was there for once), and trying to split them was not allowed. Had to match the DL.

Lots of dropping 1/4 of my names to met database limitations.

#Birdtober day 13 is scavenger! One of my favorite groups of animals, those that clean up a carcass! Vultures was an obvious choice, but I had to include a few other birds as well.

Yes, bald eagles are prone to scavenging, especially in the winter time.

🪶 In the Ojibwe language, the word for chickadee is gijigijigaaneshiinh. To hear it pronounced (it sounds really cool) visit ojibwe.lib.umn.edu/m...

“No Kings” is great , but we really don't get a functioning democracy back until we internalize, bone deep, the instinctive response to this and every other statement like it: “I don’t care what that rich guy thinks.”

Make it your morning affirmation. Say it ten times at the top of every hour.

(Also a periodic reminder to check the cleanliness of your lenses. For no reason related to the photos of this flock at all.)

Periodic reminder that circling vultures are better indicators of air currents that provide easy altitude gain (frequently thermals) than carcasses.

Today is Scavenger Sunday, yesterday was World Migratory Bird Day, and earlier this week the turkey vultures kettled up and headed south to find longer days.
