There is no reason to follow me. Seriously, think about the children. I really haven't been persuasive about this. You shouldn't follow me. It can't go well for you.

This plus this equals this.
The image shows a group of uniformed, masked men in military-style gear in the foreground. They are standing in a line, with one holding what appears to be a pepper spray canister directed towards a person in black. This individual, possibly a pastor as implied by the text, is wearing a long black coat and appears to be recoiling from the spray, shielding his face with his arm. Other masked individuals are present in the background, creating a tense atmosphere. The setting appears to be an urban, outdoor area.

Melanie D'Arrigo @darrigomelanie.bsky.social I feel like this photo of masked, armed men pepper spraying a pastor protecting his community is going to be a defining picture of this moment in America for a long, long time. Photo by Ashlee Rezin of the Chicago Sun-Times. The image shows a nighttime street scene featuring a group of police officers standing in formation on the left. They are wearing helmets, tactical gear, and some carry shields. On the opposite side of the officers is a person dressed in an inflatable frog costume with blue accents. The costume has a large belly and is predominantly green with black spots. Behind the individual in the costume, a few onlookers are present, some holding cameras or phones. The background includes a street with minimal traffic and sparse lighting, highlighting the contrast between the uniformed officers and the whimsical costume. The image shows three people dressed in large, frog costumes standing on a city sidewalk at night. The costumes are predominantly green with black spots, resembling cartoon versions of frogs. Some individuals hold signs reading "Portland Frog Squad" with a frog illustration. The background features a modern building with lights illuminating the sidewalk and a few people are visible in the distance. The scene is dimly lit, with the costumes glowing slightly due to lights.

Good grief, I am so tired of everything trying to foist AI, bloatware, and other nonsense on me. Man, a Windows-compliant open-source OS would be a delight. I just want VST plugins to work. Or whatever the new alternative is.

How much would you pay for a "I just want an operating system so I can work" version of Windows?

No Co-Pilot, Cortana, Edge, One Drive, Microsoft Store, To Do, Candy Crush, ads, or data collection. Your start menu will be installed programs only.

I honestly feel like $999 would be fair for this.

I hope no adult dresses as a masked, unidentified ICE agent for Halloween and abducts children walking down the street.

Is the law of our side if I say “Ay”?
The image shows a close-up of a small squirrel wrapped snugly in a soft, white cloth. The squirrel's face is prominently featured, with its large, dark eyes and small, pointed ears slightly visible above the cloth. The fur is a mix of brown and reddish hues, adding a warm contrast against the white fabric. The texture of the cloth is soft and gently cradles the squirrel, creating a sense of warmth and comfort. The background is slightly out of focus, emphasizing the squirrel as the main subject.

Wow. I don't see any artifacting. Yeah, it's the opposite of film but the glassy look is very smooth and beautiful too.

f3.5? Wow, the ISO must've been pretty high. I am amazed at how clean the detail is. Man, we do live in the future.

Technically, I have longer ears than you. Not, obviously, as a percentage of my body height. Even if we measure bodies to the shoulder, which is mostly for horses anyway -- I mean, are you even a hand tall?
The image portrays a giraffe and a rabbit interacting on a grassy terrain. The giraffe, with its tall, slender legs and patterned brown and white coat, bends its long neck downwards to face the rabbit. Its ears are perked up and its large eyes focus on the smaller animal. The rabbit is black with a distinctive white stripe running down its chest. It sits on the lush green grass, looking up at the giraffe. In the background, there are blurred patches of foliage suggesting a natural habitat.

I AM THE VICTIM!!
The image shows a capybara and a giant anteater standing side by side in front of a rustic wooden structure. The capybara, on the left, has light brown, fluffy fur and a stout body with short legs. Its face is slightly turned towards the viewer. The giant anteater, on the right, has a long snout and distinctive black and white fur patterns on its body and legs. It appears to be nuzzling the capybara. The background features rough wooden panels and some green foliage is visible in the foreground.

I hear you. Are these all Nikon glass? In my tiny bit of experience Nikon has much spikier flares, but I personally prefer "bloopier" flares. But yeah, the shadows are beautiful in these images.
It's amazing how these cameras each have their own "look." I'm just rambling at this point...

So basically this is Iranian Hostage Crisis 2.0, just with a 9-month delay in the payoff for no particular reason.

This seems like confirmation
Then Mr. Trump won the presidency back, and the Biden administration was determined to get a cease-fire in place by January, before it left office. It drafted a peace plan, much of which was quite similar to the “20 point plan” Mr. Trump recently issued. There was slow progress: More than 130 hostages had been released by the time the January cease-fire took place.

“We handed over a cease-fire that silenced the guns, had hostages coming out and aid going in, along with a day-after plan to make it permanent,” Mr. Blinken said. But when the new administration took over, “the moment was squandered,” he added. “Israel and Hamas went back to war for eight months.”

Israeli officials tell a different story. Mr. Biden was a lame duck, they noted, and disengaged. Mr. Trump was a known entity, less likely to lecture Mr. Netanyahu in private or public. They put their money on a new president, and a new negotiating team

When I was teaching last year I had to have a plan in my head, not for an active shooter situation, but in case ICE showed up at my classroom.
