Many follow the “power of positive thinking,” believing words and thoughts can create reality. But this teaching, rooted in pride, turns faith into self-worship. Donald Trump’s mentor Norman Vincent Peale taught that success comes by self-belief, yet Scripture says only God “calls things which are not as though they were.” (Rom 4:17) The world’s gospel says “believe in yourself”; Christ says “deny yourself.” Satan disguises pride as light, but true faith trusts God’s will, not human imagination. Real transformation comes not through mental control, but through surrender to Christ. Let this mind be in you which was in Him—humble, obedient, and holy.
