I just went for a lovely birding walk in local Nature Reserve 2 and got inspired: with the help of the Merlin bird ID app I'm going to record all the birds I see/hear between 24/12/24 and 25/12/25. It'll be under the hashtag #2425YearOfBirding. Anyone want to join me?

I am not yet ready to tempt fate by declaring a deadline for my next blog post - but it will look at a NASA Manned Spacecraft Center study of a minimum-energy crewed Mars landing mission that was posed as an alternative to the crewed flyby missions that briefly became the rage in 1966-1967 period.

As of this morning, Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (AKA: SNAP, Food Stamps or EBT) recipients STILL have not received their benefits. Meaning, they are unable to buy food. Because I h been both a SNAP recipient and a state caseworker who processed SNAP applications, I thought I should do

Happy Sunday folks! It's bright & blue skies out there so laundry's out already. I'm back working 930-4 today so won't be around a lot. Spoons are already low after migraine issues yesterday so please send me any spoons you can spare 💜

Thank you. I started getting the weird headache after lunch, then the spacey feeling and when the nausea hit I knew what I was dealing with. Thankfully no visual disturbance this time, and cutting my screen brightness by about 50% helped too. I'm limiting my screen time this evening.

Weeeelll the last chunk of teaching today was tough as I started getting migraine symptoms! 😭 I got through it but oof, not fun. The worst seems to have passed now (thankfully they're rare for me and my symptoms aren't as acute as some folks get). Hopefully no more of that please!
