Carmel HS is a trip! Going to their studio for this?
Greyhounds in the marching band state finals Saturday. I hope you're going! Very Midwestern cultural experience. The A bands are a spectacle!!
I'm a former marching band pit crew parent & highly recommend.
Unlike White Castle, unironically good.

Everyone should stop and read this today.
First, it's impeccably written & hilarious.
Second, they have searing insight into why so many American workers can't get ahead.
Third... just seems like a good day for it.

Poetry. Well done, Jo. Read this, everyone.
While toddlers screamed for their parents, this demonic little power couple were sexting each other memos dripping with cruelty. It wasn’t a meet-cute, it was a meet-cruel. Bureaucracy as foreplay, trauma as dirty talk.

Dunno if one must be on Threads to see links, so here:
Have a great week!
Indulge her. She is young, eager & ambitious.
Soon enough will come the existential dread of how much work it is.
Also, does she have the nerdy gene that loves Christmas lights?
Might need Dad assistance.
His Canadian tariffs are raisimg toilet paper prices significantly, too.
@lizzybobcat.bsky.social @kimberlyseyfert.bsky.social & I joined for the big ticket stuff for their new house (& my old one). Drive from Bloomington to Greenwood with coolers & everything.
We're hooked.
Check the freezer? I had more than 5 lbs in mine before the holidays last year.
Hi-res pass through Hurricane Melissa yesterday by a member of the 53rd Weather Reconnaissance Squadron, who mostly posts as @FlynonymousWX at the bad place.

I was a big fan of Brody. He was regal & an exceptional boy. Dario was the crazy rescue dog you get when your last kid goes to college. Half Dobie, half Mal, way too smart for his own good. He crossed Jan 31st.
Empathized hard when Brody passed.
Your puppy joy is a fine thing.
Oh my....
Puppy is darling. Name?
I love a velcro dog. May you not know solitude, even in the bathroom, for many years.
Ok, this never happens.

"Donald Trump’s personal physician Sean Barbabella claimed that the 79-year-old president has the 'heart and vascular system of a 65-year-old.' Maybe that’s technically true. There’s no telling what Jeffrey Epstein gave his guests as island party favors." God this made me laugh @playtyperguy.com
Is Trump Knocking On Heaven's Door?
If so, no one's answering.

Here's my review of The Life of a Showgirl by Taylor Swift, over a week later. It came out on a rare family holiday for me.

I dearly adore Taylor as a figure in my own life, but her art is put on market to be globally critiqued. That is the life of an artist.

If you don't want, mute thread.

I’m in England, in a field of Barley. Today, I’m going to collect wild yeast under that tree back there, and I’m going to show how to feed and grow it until it’s ready to bake with. We are going to start at the very beginning, and end at the end.

(this is an experiment in thread transfer)
Presentation is also A+!!
Of course it's not bragging! Wearing your first place medal to the store is. Event organizers love seeing shirts out & about.
Good college sweatshirts are investments, they acquire gravitas over time.
We are socialized to be nice, unassuming ladies to the point we dim our own light.
Shine bright!
Hmmm... I think there's a convention that one doesn't gloat, but no hard & fast rules. Not even from Miss Manners. I would only wear a Harvard shirt ironically cause I'd feel like a poser.
Wear that sweatshirt when & wherever you like. You worked hard earning it!
My Mom was United Church of Christ, a moderate, very middle pf the road Protestant Church. Used to sing in their choir, they needed altos. I grew up near Chicago, college in Southern Indiana. Evangelical & Pentecostal beliefs were real culture shocks.
Plot of The Vicar of Christ, written in 1979, was a remarkable man became Pope & took literally the mission of serving the world's poor by liquidating the vast wealth of the Church.
Vance parades himself as a Catholic. It's all horrifying.

My college boyfriend was Evangelical. He believed exactly as you say. No matter what he did or how he treated people, he was "saved".
Hard to wrap my Catholic guilt steeped head around that.
The Baltimore Catechism was my parochial school education. Rote learning, but you knew what & why the church expected.
Last 2 popes come from the Liberation Theology movement in Latin America.
Folks forget the Berrigan brothers in the 60s & 70s.
