Akkadian/Sumerians again. This time "retained archers" - as with the previous "retained" troops these (mostly) have the light blue body wrap to identify them (on no evidence what so ever 🤣).

12 bases of Akkadian/Sumerian archers. Each base has 3 figures on all but 2 of the figures are archers in various poses - some shooting some reloading. The 2 other figures are standard bearers. Some of the archers have a helmet, the rest are bare headed.

These are for the "retained" spearmen as opposed to the militia. I'm using the blue bands across the body to distinguish the better troops (based on nothing).

Unit of Akkadian/Sumerian militia spearmen. 9 bases in 3 ranks. The front rank bases have 7 figures; 3 shield bearers at the front and 4 spearmen with levelled spears behind them. The 2nd and 3rd ranks are both 3 bases of 4 spearmen holding their spears upright.

As one cannot ever have enough Sasanids (or Sasanians if you prefer) here is another unit of C6th CE Sasanid cavalry. 18mm Resin Warfare 3d figures printed from rescaled 28mm files.
Although I have a C4th CE Sasanid army I decided I "needed" a later version after finding these figures 🤣

Bits and pieces to allow me to field a MeG mid-republican Roman army with Spanish allies. 15/18mm 3d printed figures from Cromarty Forge files.
Will expand with more Spanish to allow me to field a wholly Spanish army and probably the same for the Romans.

15/18mm Seljuq horse archers 3d printed from BattleCat files - downsized from 28mm. Now about half way through doing these which are replacements for metal figures I sold off earlier this year to upgrade.

6 bases of Seljuq Turk horse archers. 3 bases have 3 figures per base and 3 bases have 2 figures per base. Variety of poses a mix of bow armed and sword wielding figures.

Akkadian/Sumerians again. This time some "battle carts" pulled by 4 equids. Nice models but requiring a deeper base that I'd normally base chariots types on, 50mm not 40mm but means there is no annoying overhang at the rear.

The Battle of Aughrim (12th July, 1691). The decisive battle of the Williamite War in Ireland. It was fought between the largely Irish Jacobite army loyal to James II and the forces of William III. I’m a guess today at my old friend Danny’s house in Cheltenham. Enemy territory 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

These are for 2 units of axemen, possibly guards - 2 styles of figures to allow for ease of identification and so 1 can be an ally if needed.

12 bases of Akkadian and/or Sumerian axemen. Half have "sheep skin" clothing whilst the other half have a simple kilt with a wrap over the left shoulder. All carry a small axe apart from 2 standard bearers.

A bit retro with this unit as its metal not 3d printed 😀 15mm early C3rd CE Chinese cavalry from Lurkio as sold by Gripping Beast these days.
Very straight forward figures that paint up quicky but look pretty nice IMO. To add to an existing collection to give options.

15/18mm 3d printed ancient Spanish from Cromarty Forge files. Likely to be mainly used as Lusitanians but can also work for other Iberians and Celtiberians (with a few liberties maybe).

14 bases of ancient Spanish infantry all with 3 figures on each base. All carry shields a mixture of smaller "buckler" style and larger rounded rectangular shields. Most carry a spear and javelins, some have a sword in hand.

Still playing our War of the 3 nations campaign. It's the end of 1642 and there is a battle in Ireland. Covenants, besieged by Royalists and their Irish allies, attempt to break out of Belfast to reach a small Parliamentarian force sent to help them.

2mm ECW figures. The Covenanters have reached the Parliamentarians. The Royalists and Irish are still expecting a surprise and fatally hold back.

Getting a bit more painting time in recently. The result is a mass of ancient Iberian skirmisher types - javelinmen and slingers.

Straight forward figures that turn out better than I initially think they will when I start painting them.

Bit busy but got a bit of painting done. A unit of spearmen for my "Thematic" Byzantine army which I field as mid-C9th CE. Metal for a change 😂
15/18mm Irregular Miniatures. Must be said that the moulds are getting a bit tired and there were a number of casting flaws. Came out OK though.

8 bases of Byzantine spearmen with 4 figures on each base. Spears held upright and all have a large shield painted green with a white star style design on them. A single archer figure represents supporting archers.
