I think the main 'north star' to hold onto is how to best direct that anger at the right time, backed up by relevant calls to action. I didn't feel like this rant was out of place with that consideration.

Some are querying whether Andrew can renounce a dukedom without an Act of Parliament.

But you can parse a duchy and he’s left outside.

Good night.

I do, I have it, and it is beautiful! The myth is true. See you online soon :)
Hi, I made sure to sign up before the weekend but wanted to check I haven't missed the Argonaut boat on this?
What is your basis for this assertion about it being rehearsed and scripted?
Of course, but the big occasion should be part of (or kick off) a narrative... an overarching story to which individual policies, events, news stories can be linked and framed around. They should choose that story and tell it at every opportunity, given or not. Otherwise Farage fills that void.

Who cares, you Putin-loving public-school grifting ponce? Just because the air is coming out of your tyres, doesn't mean you get to demand that the race start four years early. F-off back to Florida.
I agree it was his best... would you be able to address how frustrating it is to see that this govt CAN communicate effectively on occasion, but their failure to keep up that standard has made things so much harder for them over the last year.

When I was a teenager there was a bus direct from my hometown in Germany to London - we had a British army base, and this direct bus connection was one of the benefits of that. One summer I went on that bus to go volunteer in an old people's home in Southend-on-Sea. I had just turned 18 and was... 🧵

Imagine you're in a weird romcom where Paul Hollywood is your rival. Do you go "let's have a bread baking competition" or do you emphasise your own relative strengths?

Because that in short has been the central problem with the traditional two's approach to anti-immigration voters and Reform UK.

I welled up reading this, despairing at the state we've found ourselves in as a country. We tried to fight this, particularly in 2016 and 2019, knowing this is where we'd end up if we didn't try.
I hope you know that you bring so much more to this country than those hooligans do.
I must be living in the wrong (or right) place, as hot honey has completely passed me by.
Sounds good, actually, but I agree with the food trend thing. Everything is pistachio now, as far as I can see.

For there to be no comment from the government on Musk's call for violence, let alone action against X, is unconscionable. An utter dereliction of its responsibility for national security and an affront to every member of an ethnic minority, who is being put at risk by this rhetoric.
Great piece, thank you. I get why you felt patronising smiling at strangers, but I would have done exactly the same. In that moment, it's a rational response to powerlessness to do anything else; a small gesture fighting the tide could make a big difference to someone feeling threatened.
