And they didn't get guns masks body armor and the full backing of the state, either!
I think the word thrum is only used by creative writers. I've never seen it in any other context.
I'm finally gonna say it. Ned Stark deserved to lose his head just for the way he said "they have no ships, Robert" at their fancy King picnic. There. I said it. I'm glad he's dead.

Gosh lucky. I so rarely field trenchant questions.
No freaking way. Octavia E Butler forecasting 2032 in 1998. Check the second to last line. This is nuts. Utterly eerie stuff.

My seventh grader today was relating that in his ELA argumentative writing unit they aren't supposed to be writing about "facts that can't be debated."

I haven't watched Downton Abbey since the beginning of the second or maybe third season, but did the massive jumps in time just slow way down? Because they should be in like the 90s by now otherwise right? Does lady Mary listen to Garbage? Probably, right?
I don't need artificial intelligence to help me take cell phone photos or use Google. Until five seconds ago we just called that cool technology improvements. Now everyone insists on calling it AI. Please stop.
It's interesting to watch brands lean so hard into AI as a selling point despite 1. The overwhelming disgust most people I know have for AI and 2. The usually meaningless (and often useless) distinction between what we used to just call an algorithm or programming but now insist on calling AI.
The truest thing I've ever read.
"My kids used to think I was a halfway decent parent until you two came along with your delightful Australian accents and seemingly endless stores of free time and patience."
