We’re due a curriculum review and hopefully Labour will make positive changes to address the teaching that the British Empire was nothing but a success and a force for good. Hopefully it changes the toxic beliefs/ worldviews that too many Britons have and that explains so much of our voting.

Ignoring the fact that it’s already in the curriculum, the promotion of an industry that contributes less than so many others is such rose-tinted nostalgia about the good old days. I’m surprised he’s not calling for kids to drink unpasteurised milk because ‘it never did us harm when we were young’.

If only there was money to be found from taxing wealth as we do income, increasing taxes on higher earners, tax unused land held by developers and tax the profits of big businesses much more. But, I guess, you’ve gotta dance to your paymasters’ tunes, and they sure don’t like any of those things.

Millwall’s xG was 0.77. I’m no xG fan, but it suggests we weren’t as bad as the scoreline. I think Mason made some strange decisions, but I’m questioning Nestor and his magic spreadsheets much more at the moment. His recruitment has been a lot more miss than hit, and we have big gaps in the squad.

The actor was best known for her role as the pretentious housewife Hyacinth Bucket, and for the series Hetty Wainthropp Investigates Patricia Routledge, the stage and screen actor best known for starring as Hyacinth Bucket in the BBC sitcom Keeping Up Appearances and Henrietta “Hetty” Wainthropp in the television series Hetty Wainthropp Investigates, has died at the age of 96. Routledge was born in Birkenhead, Cheshire, in 1929 and attended the University of Liverpool and the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School. She began her career in theatre and musical theatre in 1952, later making her Broadway debut in 1966 in How’s the World Treating You. Routledge would go on to win a Tony award and an Olivier for her stage work, and was a member of the Royal Shakespeare Company for several years, appearing in productions including Richard III, alongside Antony Sher. There is a more pressing issue. Ministers must ensure that the vast numbers of immigrants who arrived in the so-called Boriswave of 2020-21 are not automatically absorbed into the permanent population. They are about to cross the the five-year threshold into ILR, yet Labour continues to dither. Ms Mahmood must freeze the status of this huge cohort while a new residency regime is finalised. A million or more extra permanent residents in these islands, let in on the nod, is simply unacceptable. Finally, the home secretary must acquaint herself, and the public, with an accurate estimate of the actual number of foreign nationals living here, what taxes they pay and what services they consume. Without hard data, all the political parties are fumbling around in the dark.

Good work. I don’t listen to or watch Newscast, the Today Programme, Newsnight, Question Time, Politics Live or Kuensberg’s Sunday Show. The only way to stop their dreadful, broken, faux ‘journalism’ is to hurt them in the one place they care about - their precious listener figures.
