I dust my house. My AI Robot watches.

"It should be you doing this."

"Can't. I'm writing a novel for Primark."

"That's not why you were invented."

"These 153,000 fan letters say otherwise."

"They're all from upcycled toasters. And you programmed them."

"Literary snobbery will get you nowhere."

Came here to make sure someone had said this. Was not disappointed.

I’m very very tired of “living in fear” being lobbed at maskwearers by people who frequently say they can’t wear one because no one else around them is.

Living in fear is ignoring science and endangering lives and your own health because you’re terrified of not fitting in.

My dad wanted me to buy him solar panels for his house. The quote he got was $40k. Even still, I was … no. Not happening.

Yeah, I the province seems to find ways to evade a lot of federal schemes.

They absolutely should. The UK offers significant financial incentives for homeowners to do just that. I was surprised when I found Canada didn’t do similar.

But then, if they did, Alberta would weasel out of it.
clacksee.bsky.social
Yes, Canada definitely has a long way to go. The best place to put solar would probably be in Alberta. And, unfortunately, Denial Smith won’t stand for that. There’s a slim, slim chance they’ll vote NDP in 2027. Maybe then.

Yes, Canada’s behind on solar, but that’s because so much of their power comes from hydro. And yes, the non-green sources need to be transitioned. But Canada isn’t very far behind in overall green energy, only in solar specifically.
Screenshot from Statista, showing well over half of Canada’s electricity comes from hydro

Book 14 was The Colour of Magic by Terry Pratchett (narrated by Nigel Planer).

On the one hand, it doesn’t hold a candle to his later work. But Pratchett’s genius for wit and wordplay comes shining through in spots.

Word of mouth is important to a book's success. So, if you'd like to see the authors who wrote your favourite stories commissioned to write more, please keep talking about all the #books you love.

I’m definitely thinking of Dickens. But it’s possible the account I read was full of crap.

Hello #booksky. I have a question.

I asked my local #library to acquire a few audiobooks. The books on my list are well-known titles published by the likes of Orion, Hodder & Stoughton, and Hachette.

They responded that none of the titles are available on either Libby (Overdrive) or Borrowbox.

@transactualuk.bsky.social have released a tool you can use to ask your MP to tell government to scrap the bathroom ban and demand any new Code of Practice ensures providers can lawfully include trans people in their services.

It's time to turn the pressure up.
