Bare legs = warm summer weather. Yay. Enjoy.

After years of trying to push kids Christmas wake ups later by even 5 mins - here I am at lunchtime enjoying a glass of bubbly 🥂and wondering when we will open presents 🎁 😂

Happy 🎄 eve to you too. I have enjoyed your Creative & fun outfits in the lead up to Xmas.

Ooh good recs then. Might try for my dairy free Hubbie!

Ooh I love the Pooh bear set.

Hubby delighted. Too many for us to enjoy but I’ll find someone to share them with 💕

I’ve got to work on my “sous chef” and photo skills but had great fun making Besitos de Coco and Zimtsterne Xmas cookies.A nice complement of egg yolks and white for our very own girls. Thank you. #SecretSantaAoNZ. They don’t look great but are Yum! Great destress. 💕

Just as well there are still 7 days till Christmas 😂

But Melomakarona (Greece) sounds so delicious and uses different tastes of olive oil and orange with a honey spice syrup. Yumm. And Alfajores (Argentina) are definitely on the list. Who doesn’t love a bit of Dulce De Lethe.

Decisions decisions. What do I try first?? I love the sound of Besitos de Coco (Portugal) but I want to try my new cookie cutters. Maybe complemented with Zimtsterne (Germany) as then can use up egg whites AND try the star cookie cutters???

Very nice!!

Highlight of #SecretSantaAoNZ. That my gift “hit the right spot” esp for my Giftee with dietary considerations and brought them joy. Yippee.

And just showing off my xmassy blingy earrings. Matches my glasses!

I know! I also like that (aside from the gingerbread house) they are not very big. Perfect bite (or two) sized! It’s a shame I have to work today as the kitchen is definitely calling. 😂

This is so perfect for me! I love baking at Christmas. Now I have extra inspiration. And although I have a few cookie cutter shapes in my draw I do not have stars, ⭐️ candy canes 🍭or angels 😇.

Oh my 💕. My #SecretSantaAoNZ gifted me not just a Xmas baking set (and icing nozzles) but a folder of carefully curated cookie recipes from 25 countries! I can’t wait!! I can feel the stress disappearing already. Not to mention the festive bling which I shall wear to my afternoon workshop today.

Surrounded by CVE for years, I know this with certainty. No one should ever experience terrorism. Guns have no place in civil society besides tightly regulated hunting. No one should be targeted because of their faith. And the only long term solution to overcome hate is to love thy neighbour. 🧵1/2

Back home and unpacked my #SecretSantaAoNZ 🎁 under the 🎄tree. Promise I didn’t shake but something definitely tinkled 🎶. Love that my Santa had exactly the same wrapping paper as I had from a couple of years back.

Woo hoo. What a huge thing. Time to become Dr Caffiend now??
We're running a very short survey to explore why academics are increasingly turning to GenAI to do things that they know/feel they should probably be doing themselves (e.g. write peer reviews, draft papers, data analysis etc.) - please share (or fill in!): redcap.helix.monash.edu/surveys/?s=L...

3️⃣ A ban blocks access. It does not address harm.
Online harm comes from platform design, governance failures, and adult misuse.
An isolated ban will not change platform behaviour.

Save the Children NZ have actually talked to children themselves about online safety - if the focus was genuinely on children’s safety we’d be elevating their voices and idea of solutions.

Not a case of “taking power back from Big Tech”. It’s caving into them by allowing them to be unaccountable. Inappropriate content is not going away.
We are just ignoring what’s right in front of us and leaving youth to deal with the mess at a later stage of life :-(

Australia just banned kids from social media, will NZ like and subscribe?
As Australia’s social media ban for under 16s came into effect, New Zealand politicians promised similar law would be in place soon.

Maryna Kalashlinska talking about the grey zones of conflict. The weaponisation of information, education, AI and social media amongst other things.

Legal perspective: Yurii Orzikh discussing legal frameworks for managing mis - dis - and missing information on Telegram during the Ukraine war. Drawing a theory I have never come across before. McGuire’s inoculation theory thinking about “pre-bunking” rather than “debunking”

Taking a chance that you’ll see this.
We’re doing our annual Xmas fundraiser and we need around $8000 so if you could pop $ in, + share, that would help greatly

I’m a southern hemisphere person. Never has a cold dark Christmas. But am enjoying the lights and festivities amidst the chilly weather. Sadly no snow #Örebro #Sweden #Christmaslights #SecretSantaAoNZ

Says it like it is. Let’s avoid the problems not solve them!
The Australien Government has made an ad about the Social Media Ban for Under-16s, and it's surprisingly honest and informative.
