I am a man who knows how to create small & achievable goals for himself
chathamharrison.bsky.social
Building power through grassroots organizing, who ever imagined such a thing
chathamharrison.bsky.social
With the clear implication being this is 1. nothing to treat lightly & 2. not sustainable

They suck at their jobs & they suck in the most boring & obvious ways you can think of. An endless succession of otherwise unemployable failsons propped up by men with more money that they know what to do with

This is part of the point of my recurring "the Republican Party is going to get worse before it gets even worse". It's not just that they're increasingly depraved & fascistic, it's that they're increasingly delusional incompetents

recurring gripe of mine: stop talking about these people like they’re fucking supervillains, Palmer Luckey is grifter bullshit artist who is going to steal a lot of public money in exchange for buggy vaporware, he’s not Lex Luthor. they get off when breathlessl hyperventilating about them like this.

The Merchant of Death, billionaire Palmer Luckey, rebranded the DOD the Department of War.

Peter Thiel/Palantir gave his company, Andruil, a billion dollars in January.

This is Palmer “I love killer robots” Luckey.

Origin story on rename below, as well as him hanging out with the worst people.

This too is part of peaceful protest. That clarinetist is a hero.

grateful portland has risen to the challenge so far in peacefully protesting the ICE facility and that nationally we're all cheering on the frogs but I think it's important to make sure everyone is aware that the ICE goons aren't exactly being peaceful in return

As far as I've seen, the type tends to be highly successful workaholics. The unsuccessful ones' kids don't generally get these opportunities
chathamharrison.bsky.social
Yes, which is why it's wise not to get too worked up about it in any case (though calling pulled pork & coleslaw on ciabatta a "banh mi" remains an honest travesty)
chathamharrison.bsky.social
There's a lot of things I could say about these guys & I'm not going to do it because I'm trying to be above it but goddamn are they doing their best to make it difficult for me
chathamharrison.bsky.social
(white) normies mainstream a thing & franchise it & pretty soon you can get the Great Value thing with 80% of the aesthetic & 20% of the quality for ½ the price, & pretty soon people think that's what the thing was all along, & that's why we gotta firebomb the Walmart (we never firebomb the Walmart)
chathamharrison.bsky.social
Sounds like anxiety upon anxiety, speaking inexpertly
chathamharrison.bsky.social
They don't think they can win the seat in a straight fight but they'll lease it for six years & hope for a popular Dem president to have coattails in 2032
chathamharrison.bsky.social
Of course they'll care. They'll demand to know what the Democrats are going to do to stop it
chathamharrison.bsky.social
As long as Trump can sell that as peace that's fine by him, same way he can sell himself as a peacemaker abroad while doing mass murder in the Caribbean
chathamharrison.bsky.social
Journos love hawks & hate doves, simple as. Hawks make for big stories when in office & good copy when out of office. Doves are boring & probably pussies. Press hates that almost as bad as they hate women
chathamharrison.bsky.social
Trump didn't give a shit about stopping the killing except to the extent he could take credit for it. But that doesn't matter. It ought to, but it doesn't. All that matters is that Trump has leverage over Bibi that Biden didn't have, & now he's used it to enforce a peace Biden couldn't.

"I would simply not need that long" (it would take German infantry two to three months, at relatively breakneck speeds, to march into the Soviet rear industrial areas *unopposed*)
chathamharrison.bsky.social
The Democratic Party did a great job executing in 2024 in the midst of great complication. But execution is not a plan, & it is not a strategy.
chathamharrison.bsky.social
I know so many large organizations are like this, but it is so frustrating to see the Democratic Party so often confident in what it knows & doesn't know, despite so often having little to show for it

it is really remarkable how everyone discounted her as a lightweight bound to crash and burn
primaryschool.bsky.social
it's hard to get mad at Kamala over anything except Gaza because otherwise the party treated her horribly and she nearly saved them from oblivion anyway
chathamharrison.bsky.social
Trump can tell Bibi what his best deal is in a way Biden couldn't (because Trump would always outbid him).
chathamharrison.bsky.social
None of them. Fitzgerald hates them & wants you to hate them too
chathamharrison.bsky.social
I will say that it's clear a lot of Biden FP people, if not Biden himself, saw this as a great opportunity to hobble Iran & permanently improve the security situation in the Middle East, bought cheaply with Israeli munitions & Palestinian lives. Trump is now reaping those rewards unjustly won.
