I frequently say you don't need to protest. You don't! There are a thousand other ways to push back on fascism if protesting doesn't feel comfortable or safe for you!

You know what job existed before there were farmers? Artists and storytellers. When humans were surviving by hunting and gathering, art was being made and stories were being told. These are important to our continued existence. Yet this is what Altman would like you to believe isn’t “real work”.

“If you’re, like, farming, you’re doing something people really need,” Altman explained. “You’re making them food, you’re keeping them alive. This is real work.” But the farmer would see our modern jobs as “playing a game to fill your time,” and therefore not a “real job.”

“It’s very possible that if we could see those jobs of the future,” Altman said, we’d think “maybe our jobs were not as real as a farmer’s job, but it’s a lot more real than this game you’re playing to entertain yourself.”

Yeah, I realize now that I’ve seen it a lot in Manga, but would just briefly think “that’s a weird notch in that word balloon” then move on and forgot about it. I don’t think it really works too well for western audiences.

I’ve never seen this before! An *inward-indicating* word-balloon tail (that’s the speaker’s right arm descending below the word balloon).

FASCINATING! Does this tail technique have a name? Have folks seen it used elsewhere?? I have so many questions!!! (From HIRAYASUMI, book 3, pg 37)

I learned awhile ago that doing their homework for them is a fool’s errand anyways. Many times if you present them with a source of the info, they won’t read it.
