BTW, when I and my spouse discuss putting pillows over one another’s faces in the middle of the night we often find ourselves saying that, if they only knew what the snoring sounded like, not a court in the land would convict.

For people of Moose’s and my vintage the bit in the middle of that Venn diagram (no spoilers! 😀) was a familiar thing that was perhaps partly used to wean teenagers onto beer. But I don’t remember hearing someone asking for it for decades. Perhaps it has disappeared into the past?

More broadly, this is applies to all leadership, and is especially problematic for those practicing the ‘madman’ version. Sooner or later you will need people to believe you mean what you say. Tricky if you’ve spent years demonstrating the opposite.

OTD in 2002 🇺🇦 began decommissioning its nuclear capable Tu-22 strategic bombers & Kh-22 cruise missiles, as per the Budapest memo.

30 bombers & 230 missiles were destroyed over 2 & half years in exchange for promise 🇷🇺 would never invade.

But you can believe our promises now

Yes indeed. A crucial part of doing any form of art is, ‘well this isn’t the direction I intended to go but let’s run with it.’

It’s what writers are describing when they say a character feels like it has taken over and is writing itself. It’s creativity running full steam.

Art, the arts, are media for transmitting ideas from inside someone’s head to the insides of other people’s heads.

A.I. doesn’t have a head. That, fundamentally, is what is wrong with this.
