This is a photo of a cluster of four shiny green mushrooms. Three of them on the right grow from almost the same spot, while one on the left is slightly separated from them. Two of the three on the right are shorter while a taller one looms over them. Their stipes start as yellow at the base and then fade to green as they approach the cap. The caps are a yellow-green at the margin and turn to dark emerald green at the top. Their caps are shiny with a thin layer of viscous slime.

The oyster reef experiment. Concrete modules with embedded shells are stacked and staked in Pamlico sound. The spats need a hard substructure to adhere to and grow into full size oysters.
When the English came up the James River to Jamestown they passed large oyster reefs. The first families would harvest from them and return the shells to the reefs knowing they were essential to continuing oyster growth. The English took the oysters, but used the shells for building and other things. Taking so many that the reefs eventually disappeared.

Yesterday was a week since #NoKings day and another protest was held. This one was outside of the #Minnesota State Capitol. Crowd of maybe 1000. Not as many costumes, catchy signs, or other attempts at being a trendy demonstrator. It did disrupt traffic though. It still demanded attention. #Resist

The march down university ave. We did stop traffic on this march, but the people in their cars were generally nice. honking in solidarity. dont just protest when it is trendy. Resistance requires you to keep showing up.
