A little reminder from Fox Lane 📚💛

We don’t just stock shelves with books (though there are plenty of those!), we also have sweet treats from North Yorkshire, like Guppy’s delicious chocolate from York, and Sawley Kitchen’s buttery shortbread from Ripon.

This is the book post I’ve been waiting for!

Meantime, I’m diving in...

I’ve found it’s a lot easier if it’s familiar. Pigs in blankets were on the menu as were cheesy leeks for husband (and mum on the day) Also helps me for my timings!
I got this on the last day of term (2 are leaving) I’m glad that after 25 years, I’m still making it fun.
We always have a few practice runs for Christmas Day dinner so that the girls are not as phased. I also just throw them in like they’re a normal meal and not anything special. I’ve just eaten a lot of food for a Tuesday evening.
I made 2 lots of soup and a stew today. My kind of ‘back to school prep’!

Is there anyone in the uk kidlit community who would be up for helping me organise a fundraiser/auction for #KeepEyesOnSudan? I can't organise my way out of a paper bag but I can shout about things and persuade authors and illustrators to donate stuff #UKKidlit #KidLitUK
They’re beautiful aren’t they.
I think it’s the one drink I can still drink ‘some’ of and be okay in the morning. My tolerance has definitely dropped lately!
I know, I really want to visit but the wee boat doesn’t go in April and getting in at 11pm with the girls fills me with dread! My dad’s having a great time. (Maybe they’ll visit the distillery for me?!)

Huge thanks to everyone who came along to my ESCAPE ROOM: GAME ZERO event at the Cheltenham Literature Festival today! We had tons of fun uncovering the secrets of The Escape and solving its puzzles and challenges. It's been such a thrill to be part of this year's festival and see The Escape trail!
Can smell them a mile away!
Sorry to hear that. Hope tomorrow goes okay.
@mrsveritea.bsky.social apparently it’s National Gin and Tonic Day. Luckily I’ve come back from the islands prepared!
It is lovely. But some long weekends in terms 3 and 4 would also be good!
