That's fair. In the end, I am for whoever can beat Collins, and am interested to hear what my parents think of Platner at their townhall.

I'm ranking Burhan Azeem #1 for Cambridge City Council so he can continue his good work addressing the affordable housing crisis.
burhanazeem.bsky.social
For the first time in a generation, triple-deckers and affordable apartments are legal again in Cambridge.

Impossible? It wasn’t.
Inevitable? It’s wasn’t that either.
It was a choice.

Vote Burhan #1 on Nov 4th and keep choosing housing.

I think I just got called a "whippersnapper," which is half, "Aww shucks, what a nice thing to say right before my birthday!" and half, "Please update your view of Millennials; my kid is in high school."

Only what I’ve seen reported.
caitlindeangelis.bsky.social
Then maybe you should stop yelling at people who don't want Mills to run and are conversing with their older relatives in Maine about attending Platner events?
caitlindeangelis.bsky.social
It would probably do you some good to watch Platner’s town halls and observe whether he calls the people who came to learn more about him “fucking idiots.”
caitlindeangelis.bsky.social
Sure they do.
I am paying attention to the national Dems who choose to back Mills so I can know who I think has a bad vision for the future of the party.
caitlindeangelis.bsky.social
It's fine — no worries! Text-based communication always has issues with tone, so please do not spend any time worrying about it, and have a lovely day.
caitlindeangelis.bsky.social
My parents (progressives in Maine) voted for Gov. Mills and seem to like her pretty well! But they would also like to see the Democrats supporting talent and momentum that can carry the party into the future. They're headed to a Platner townhall soon—I'll be curious to hear what they think.
caitlindeangelis.bsky.social
My parents are progressives who live in Maine, and voted for Mills for governor. They seem to like her and think she is a good governor! It was great that she stood up to Trump!

The problem is that Dems in power are stifling younger progressive voices and momentum rather than building a future.

I do think it's important to take children's rights and consent seriously, especially since our laws and culture tilt toward patriarchal coercion.

We know that many trans kids are not safe at home. Here, SCOTUS sides with patriarchal authority against kids' rights to speech, safety, and education.
caitlindeangelis.bsky.social
You might ask yourself why you are choosing to derail a conversation about protecting the dignity of trans children by defending an abusive parenting philosophy. Why? What are you hoping to prove? To whom? One more reply in this vein and I will just assume you are a bot and block you.
caitlindeangelis.bsky.social
I also have two children, and that is not how parenting goes. That is how abuse goes.
caitlindeangelis.bsky.social
So much hinges on whether we treat children as people with their own inalienable rights—to dignity, to education, to their own bodies—or as objects on which adults are free to enact their own desires.

Alito, joined by Thomas and Gorsuch, suggest that public schools violate the Constitution when they help a student transition (by acknowledging them as trans) without their parents' knowledge or consent.

Would force schools to out trans kids to their parents. www.supremecourt.gov/orders/court...
SUPREME COURT OF THE UNITED STATES
JONATHAN LEE, ET AL. v. POUDRE
SCHOOL DISTRICT R–1
ON PETITION FOR WRIT OF CERTIORARI TO THE UNITED
STATES COURT OF APPEALS FOR THE TENTH CIRCUIT
No. 25–89. Decided October 14, 2025
The petition for a writ of certiorari is denied.
Statement of JUSTICE ALITO, with whom JUSTICE
THOMAS and JUSTICE GORSUCH join, respecting the denial
of certiorari.
I concur in the denial of certiorari because petitioners do
not challenge the ground for the ruling below. But I remain
concerned that some federal courts are “tempt[ed]” to avoid
confronting a “particularly contentious constitutional questio[n]”: whether a school district violates parents’ fundamental rights “when, without parental knowledge or consent, it encourages a student to transition to a new gender
or assists in that process.” Parents Protecting Our Children, UA v. Eau Claire Area School Dist., 604 U. S. ___,
___–___ (2024) (ALITO, J., dissenting from denial of certiorari) (slip op., at 1–2) (citing Troxel v. Granville, 530 U. S.
57, 70 (2000) (plurality opinion)). Petitioners tell us that
nearly 6,000 public schools have policies—as respondent allegedly does—that purposefully interfere with parents’ access to critical information about their children’s genderidentity choices and school personnel’s involvement in and
influence on those choices. Pet. for Cert. 24. The troubling—and tragic—allegations in this case underscore the
“great and growing national importance” of the question
that these parent petitioners present. Parents Protecting
Our Children, 604 U. S., at ___ (slip op., at 1).

The only value I see in Janet Mills running a primary campaign against Graham Platner in Maine is to collect a list of people who endorse Mills and never listen to any of those people about anything ever again.

FRUSTRATING. AS. FUCK.
