Closest I can find to tonight's GIDP:

Cleveland 9-2 GIDP in 1919 (Aug. 15). And a Reds' game that had a 7-2 in 1933 (June 4, Game 2).

Those are the only two GIDP I can find that end with the ball in the catcher's hand and began with the ball in an outfielder's hand.

NEWS: ICE gave a Rogers Park man a $130 ticket for not having his papers on him. They rounded him up last week and eventually let him go, but not without a fine that some critics say is un-American. Trump admin enforcing little-used law

Rogers Park and surrounding neighborhoods were hit hard by immigration enforcement activity over the weekend.

There's no competition here, but I want to name that the same heavy, violent, fast-moving abduction pattern has invaded the southwest side about three times a week for over a month now.

Max Muncy's "GIDP" fly ball (404 feet) traveled more than 40 feet farther than Freddie Freeman's home run (362 feet).

We should all be so lucky to live in the same building as a kind chef who likes to drop off little “care packages” from time to time.

Lemon garlic chicken rice, with tzatziki. And dessert is still the homemade mooncakes our neighbor brought us the other day.

Because the batter cannot officially reach first base on a force play (regardless of how it’s scored) unless the runners in front of him also safely reach their bases. Which they did not.

That insanity goes down officially as a grounded into double play, making it the only batted ball hit over 350 feet for a GIDP in the pitch tracking era (reg. + postseason).

Max Muncy grounded into a 404-foot double play.

OK, I came back to everyone talking about a double play on a ball that was clearly not caught on the fly. This is the part of the play I still hadn’t seen (glancing over while cooking dinner.)

So it's a double play, an out at home (out #2) and an out at 3rd since Will Smith did not advance from 2nd (3rd out)

I think many people also don’t want to consider the possibility that someone in their own family simply … made up a story and/or passed down a lie, because it was just easier that way.

Timeline cleanse. Can’t tell if This Old Cat is extremely comfortable or the opposite. Not sure it really matters when it comes to nap time.
An elderly gray tortoiseshell cat lays in an awkward Q shape on a patterned red rug with a small cardboard box beside her head. Her body is curled into a ball with the back paws pointing toward the 3 o’clock position and her tail outstretched toward 7 o’clock. One eye remains open in a creepy way.

I feel like there’s a segment of every generation that decides whatever way it’s being done now is unfair, and maybe we should try it another way. But of course, that way is also unfair for different reasons.

Since 1924, it’s been 2-3-2 in every WS … except war years 1943 (3-3-1) and 1945 (3-4). Before then, it varied and coin flips usually decided site of final game. 1921-23 subway series were 1-1-1-1-1-1-1. 1918 (also war) was 3-3-1. 1914-17 were all 2-2-1-1-1.
