It's why I'm always wary of old ladies having afternoon tea tbh... NB 'The Hunt' with Betty Gilpin has v strong 'Ready or Not' vibes if you haven't already seen it - same level of black humour, some gore but not excessive. I enjoyed it.

Yeah, always think monsters have to work so hard for the money - cajoling victims and endless walking around and jumping on things a lot. Ghosts just get to live in their little own heads, float around & please themselves. Ghosts rock.

I'm similar to you - love ghosts & a demon & a bit of possession but zero interest in gore & stabbies & bloody bits (zombies really need to get a nice hobby...) There's some free fun classic ghost films on YouTube btw - original Thirteen Ghosts etc - see @pizzaFlix YT channel.

Today’s #AutumnArrivalSpotlight is the delightful Pallas’s Warbler! 🍂

These tiny visitors from far east are a rare autumn treat for birdwatchers!

Look for their bright yellow eyebrow stripe and lemon rump as they flit through the trees.

Join myself and the insanely talented Matthew Forsythe in convo this October 28th at 7pm (gmt).
🤩

We’ll be talking about his journey from comics to animation to absolutely epic children’s books.
It’s gonna be a vibe, be sure to get your drinks and snacks ready and put the date in your diary.

☺️
The image is of an advert for an Instagram Live event. It contains a picture of myself (Dapo Adeola) and my guest (Matthew Forsythe), as well as the date (October 28th 2025) and time (7pm GMT) the event will be taking place. There’s also an image of the cover of Matt’s latest picture book (Aggie & The Ghost) in the bottom left corner of the image.

I enjoyed Presence recently. A clever take on modern ghosting.

So delighted to be nominated in the Arts Journalism and Criticism category of the Irish Journalism Awards - for these three columns in the Sunday Times. Feels like a huge moment after going freelance in 2023!

I am glad we are in the EU. I am also highly critical of the EU for their neoliberalism, support of genocide, making us bail out the German banks etc. I don't think there's any contradiction in that, it's OK to be critical / seek improvement.

On this day in 1940 the BBC’s London headquarters, Broadcasting House, was hit by a huge bomb dropped by the Luftwaffe. Seven died and there was huge destruction.

Using oral history accounts and documents from the BBC’s own archives, I’ve tried to piece together how events unfolded that night
The Bombing of Broadcasting House
Broadcasting House in London, suffered two direct hits in the Blitz – causing widespread damage, several deaths, and many injuries.

Grumpy today and it's grey and dismal so #UnconfinedWalks along the cycle route because it's good for autumn colour. The textures and rich colour have brightened me up a bit.

I’m on the last ten pages of The Everlasting by the fabulously skilled @alixeharrow.bsky.social AND I AM NOT OKAY
An ARC of The Everlasting by Alix E. Harrow.

The cover features autumn-coloured flowers and vines that wrap around the silhouette of a sword. A single eye peers out from the shape of the sword. The tag line above the title reads “A Legend. A Lie. A Love Story.”

I’m holding The Everlasting in front of my book shelves, which have softly glowing mood lights and one very stubborn Pothos along with some of my favourite fantasy books.
