What an outrageous and insulting reply, given what Mr Khan had just said. The division mongers were herself and the two nodding mutts sitting either side of her.

Iain Duncan Smith says when Maccabi played a game in Istanbul there was no trouble at all

@ianbyrnemp.bsky.social had to point out UEFA moved the game to Hungary after the Turkish authorities refused to stage it &the Hungarian authorities then played it behind closed doors. Hence no trouble
What I see is Ann not crediting these people with a modicum of intelligence. They aren’t the angry people who rushed to back Reform. I mean “superpowers”, “water into wine”, seriously? As I said to the other guy “what will ultimately count is election success, so we wait & see. In the meantime …”
He’s very rational going by the way he’s handled interviews & his stint on QT. The key thing is he’s a good communicator of ideas. He’s not been “told” he’s popular, he IS popular because of his fresh approach. But what will ultimately count is election success, so we wait & see. In the meantime …
Tbh, I think the people switching to him are more intelligent than that. He offers a vision that aligns with what they themselves hope for. I don’t think there is anything superpower about it. If that’s what you think and you don’t want to take a risk, then vote Labour. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Lisa Nandy: "He's right to say that it is unprecedented in recent times that an entire group of away supporters have been entirely banned from a game"

Unprecedented in recent times? In 2023 Legia Warsaw fans were banned from a game at Villa Park.
I’m not sure Nandy knows much if anything about football or indeed any sport. Happy to be corrected!
Yes, the better analogy is A-level French or German. They could’ve just said B2 CEFR, but then comes the awkward bit where someone asks what the E stands for. Ehm … English, minister. 😁
An excellent piece. Every word.
Excellent piece that really explained the issues - thank you.
Just 1 note:

“Hamas has not complied with the ceasefire it agreed a week ago …”

Given #Israel has attacked Gaza nearly 50 times and kept Rafah crossing closed since then, it’s clear who’s breaking the ceasefire.

😂 And he blocks.
Arab football - sorry, “soccer” to you - clubs don’t play in Europe. 🙄
It is antisemitic to conflate Israelis with all Jewish people.
On both counts, football and antisemitism, you clearly have no idea what you are talking about.
As I said, you’re both stupid & ignorant. GTFOOH!
No, you didn’t.
“And the UK is known for it's peaceful football fans” ending with “ lol.” is just you making a childishly petty comment based on your own prejudice. No country is obliged to accept another country’s thugs, not even Israeli ones. Worry about your own country’s many problems instead 👍
England has a football hooliganism problem (it’s a rare event these days and in fact more common abroad when England fans rather than club fans travel) is irrelevant. UK is not obliged to accept foreign football thugs anymore than other countries should accept ours. That’s it. Think before you post!
It was factual - it’s your problem if you can’t handle that. You made an ignorant and frankly stupid comment, posting about something you know fuck all about. You used neither reason nor logic in your original post - if you had, I would’ve reasoned back, but you didn’t and here’s why: Whether or not
“A traditional conservative and NOT maga” you may be, but you’re just as stupid.
What’s that noise? Not the stampede of certain political party leaders making a break for the exit is it?

If only those twats had checked MTA’s history going back to before Amsterdam they might’ve avoided conflating Israeli football hooligans with Jewish people …

Maccabi Tel Aviv v Hapoel Tel Aviv called off by police after disorder

Would you like to comment since you were so quick to jump on Starmer’s Israel/Jews conflation bandwagon? MTA had a reputation for racism & hooliganism well before Amsterdam, yet YOU seem to think they should be allowed to go to Birmingham. Ill-judged call?

"The Israeli Premier League derby between Maccabi Tel Aviv and Hapoel Tel Aviv was cancelled by police after "violent riots" before kick-off."

There are MANY politicians who owe West Midlands police a profound apology.

List/tag them. 👇

Otoh, we have a gay, Jewish man with - according to pin-up boy Jeremy Clarkson - bad teeth saying it now. It might be some other factor. Alex suggests desperate times and he may be right.
