Unconditional support for the Israeli government is counterproductive for both countries. If Trump can get tough, why not Congress and every potus? This is the type of thing these folks have been plotting since a few of them were in the Reagan administration in the '80s and others were in one of the three Bush administrations. They're a fundamental part of the Conservative Legal Movement that began in the late '70s. This is a religion for them.
