This is harmful not just because it's victim blaming, but that it creates a false equivalence in terms of the responsibility of drivers and pedestrians: "bright clothes, headlights on."

Drivers have *much more* responsibility to keep road users safe! And that includes not speeding.

Due to Qantas scheduling, I had to fly to Canberra on a Sunday.
But I saw Mr Squiggle, sat with a hot chocolate and read my book, then watched @romgothsam.bsky.social talk about gothic women.
Pretty good Sunday in the end.

As I dragged myself out of bed before dawn to take the 6am plane for work I was reminded of when I used to drag myself out of bed before dawn every morning to take the 6am train to work.

And that’s one of the reasons I now live in Townsville.
Only to take the 6am plane.
