The Lib Dems continue to advocate for proportional representation and closer ties with the EU, Including rejoining the single market.
These policies position themselves as a distinct alternative to Labour, Conservatives or Reform, appealing to voters frustrated with the electoral system or Brexit.

Small businesses are the engine of our economy and the backbone of our communities.

We need to be doing everything we can to support them.

After years of Conservative economic vandalism the hike in employers national insurance is the last thing they need.

So with a weak dollar it would be a good time for tourists to visit the USA. But wait perhaps not, as we might get arrested, plus many have vowed not to visit the USA whilst Trump and the rest of the lunatics are in power.

Tommy Robinson police stop unlawful, court hears. Headline on BBC News web site. This is wholly misleading. It was Robinson's lawyer who said the stop was unlawful, not the court. The court will rule on the case on 4th November.

Liberal Democrats are winning again.

The Holyrood election in May is an opportunity for change with fairness at its heart.

Because Scotland deserves better - and with the Scottish Liberal Democrats, you can vote for it.
In constituencies right across the country, the Lib Dems are poised to beat the SNP.

Right across the Highlands we’re going to see big Lib Dem gains and in Strathkelvin and Bearsden, Edinburgh Northern, Argyll and Bute and other parts of the country we’re very close to beating the SNP.

No trade deals will replace the vast losses of Brexit. It just won't happen, and meanwhile, Brits just have to suck it up because, you know, a vote built on lies, xenophobia and misinformation must be adhered to for some reason.

Labour's Rachel Reeves thinks we're all stupid

After admitting that Brexit is costing us 4% of GDP

She suggested the UK-EU reset is mitigating that

It's not

0.13% GDP gain from UK–India deal
0.05% GDP gain from UK–US deal
0.3% GDP gain from UK–EU reset

I've officially reached the point in my career where I can hear budget cuts as a background soundtrack to my life.

This mid-week post is half-primal scream, half-essay and almost entirely about the national delusion that we can keep "doing more with less."

Welcome to the edge - there's snacks.
The Ceaseless Snip-Snip-Snip of a Dying State
Fifteen years of cuts have left the UK trying to "efficiency" its way out of a collapse - and somehow still expecting growth to show up as well.

The LibDems have it right here not Reform. The long-muted option for a north and south Warwickshire is the best option. If districts and the boroughs knowledge is retained, then it is best for all. WMCA would probably such more money out than put into the area.
Devolution debate sees Warwickshire 'super council' plan agreed
The debate has county councillors also agree to join the West Midlands Combined Authority.

It's time for Starmer to abandon the race to keep up with the economy-sapping immigration policies of the man who brought us Brexit in the first place. Until he takes that step, the “severe and long-lasting” impact of leaving the EU, identified by Reeves today, will only keep getting worse.
Keir Starmer's 'Brexit Is Bad, Let's Make It a Bit Worse' Strategy
The Chancellor just admitted that Brexit has been an economic disaster. It's time the Government stopped making it even worse by imitating Nigel Farage's damaging anti-migration agenda, argues Adam Bi...

My friend Ming Campbell had so many strengths. Olympian, statesman, party leader.

At St Andrews, where he was Chancellor for almost twenty years, he gave so much to generations of students. Wendy Chamberlain and I were proud to honour his legacy in the place he loved.

40% of hospices in England are preparing to cut services or stop end of life care in 6 months. They're at breaking point.

I’ve seen this first-hand as our own Dorothy House faces a severe funding shortfall.

That's why we Lib Dems are calling on the Government to support their vital work.

Deform UK Ltd say they're scrapping their planned Tax Cuts, but their ultimate aim is still to reduce public spending to 35% of GDP — that’s a £275 billion slash and burn exercise, right there.

In other news, the NHS costs £275 billion a year.

Just a coincidence, I'm sure.

How would you feel if:

- you ended up with a Reform MP after the 2029 General Election

- who only got 20% of the vote

- and over 50% of people in your constituency had voted LD/GRN/LAB/YP

- and this happened around the country giving Reform 400 MPs and total power

Don’t forget FPTP.

Homelessness requires long-term solutions not quick fixes.

The Government’s £9.1m winter support for the South West is not enough. We @libdems.org.uk are calling for them to take real action.

🏠 Build 150,000 social homes yearly
❌ Abolish no-fault evictions
📃 Launch a new homelessness strategy
A safe warm place to call home.
