My unpopular opinion is that all body modifications/ "cosmetic surgeries" should be subsidized for everyone without question because everyone should get to feel like their body fits properly

But yeah especially trans folks

I got the quote for my FFS yesterday!

The good news is that it's somewhat cheaper than expected

But also it's still about 40k Canadian, only about 10k of which will be reimbursed by my insurance.

I can handle the debt but would appreciate assistance in handling LESS of it if possible.

When I wrote "Ghosts" seven years ago, the key message was to pursue the life that actually makes you feel alive, even when it is difficult and scary and requires incredible bravery

I feel alive.

The fact that I survived that and have made it through to a life that has so much joy, so much discovery in it is truly miraculous to me. My life has so much laughter in it. I can't remember the last time it had this much.

A year ago I was in the midst of divorce processes and the worst trauma events of my life as I simultaneously worked on CPTSD while dismantling a relationship I'd been in for 24 years. Some days I was largely disassociated with stress and pain.

I hung up pictures of me with my chosen family around my house from times over the last couple years I've gotten to see them in person. Today I saw a few of the pics as I walked through to do something and just started happy crying because I have such dear loved ones.
