🐍 RELEASE DAY 🐍

It's here, everyone! Noxious is OUT! The second book in the Bloodmaster series is available on Amazon (and KU). I'm so excited to finally be sharing it with everyone!

🔗 books2read.com/b/3JYzYJ

💙📚

Below is every thread I've made about it, if you want more info:
The cover of Noxious, book 2 in the Bloodmaster series. The illustration shows a Slayer (a black woman with red hair done in braids with golden ornaments) doing a backflip while licking a bloody spear. She has pointed teeth and a clawmark scar on her face. Book title and series title are at the bottom, my name (Ayrton Silva) is at the top.

So far I only have one end in mind, but I don't yet know how to make it make sense or how to make it satisfying lmao. Essentially, my current idea is for the MC to leave on a journey, because that will be more convenient for other books I wanna write later.

14: Strategy for winning

In the board game I mentioned, a common ploy is to place a ballista in one of the corners, effectively cutting the board in half.

THREE! The flock's rooster, Douglas Jr.! (art of not specifically Douglas but the original chicken design, drawn by me!) He's an Ayam Cemani!
Named after Grandpa, because both are the youngest but biggest of their immediate families. A truer gentleman, you will not find.

sets off the MC's "quest", and eavesdropping is something she'd 100% would do lol. It also introduces the main conflict and players right off the bad.

I could probably have stuffed more exposition in it, though.

I sorta jumped the gun on this and already wrote chapter one 👀

I decided to start the story at a party, where the MC meets an important side character and together they eavesdrop on a secret meeting the main antag is having.

I chose to start this way because it's this meeting that +

The Empress is a notorious enthusiast of dueling, often showing up to watch tournaments and bestowing gifts upon the winners. Some say she's an expert duelist herself, but obviously nobody's seen it.

It's hard to help Americans left behind because so much of US identity is rooted in individualism. The average American conservative holds all three positions at once:

— Virtue signals about supporting US manufacturing
— Against raising the minimum wage
— Buys foreign imports because they're cheap
HardPass4 on Twitter tweets: "I'm willing to pay more for quality products if they are made in America, by Americans, who are paid a decent income." The tweet shows Norman Rockwell's "Freedom of Speech" painting, which is often used to show the tweeter is expressing a brave opinion. HardPass4 on Twitter tweets: "MINIMUM WAGE JOBS WERE NOT MEANT TO BE A CAREER. Why does no one understand this? Entry level jobs are STEPPING STONES to better jobs. No one wants to work towards that though." HardPass4 on Twitter tweets: "Buy $5 gloves instead of $50 ones. Trust me." The tweet shows a box of "Gorilla Grip" gloves. The label on Gorilla Grip gloves show they're made in China.

Read some super fun books. Wrote some reviews.

You should check out the books too if you want some gritty, fun fantasy adventures with plenty of banter and brilliant character work!
Five star The Envoys of War by Dave lawson goodreads review: This one was such a fun, and slightly silly(in the best way), fantasy adventure/quest book!

The character work was fantastic in this one and to me, really what pushed this into 5-star rating territory. We get 3 POV's and each is voicey and distinct, never allowing any confusion as to who we're following. The characters are also very consistent and realised, they don't change their personalities to conform to a pre-determined plot(something that's a pet peeve of mine).

The plot was also solid, subtly changing its course as we go on but it all makes sense for the characters and their motivations so it felt like the natural progression of things. Five stars The Pawns of Havoc by Dave Lawson goodreads review: After loving The Envoys of War, I knew I had to grab this one the moment the audiobook was released and I was not disappointed!

This one follows Cork, a side character in Envoys although I believe this story is set before the events of Envoys. Where Envoys have more silly streaks this one also has plenty of humour and great character work.

It's a novella and a quick read but that doesn't mean there isn't loads of action and heart packed into it. I particularly enjoyed some of the more serious internal monologue from Cork after things had gone to sh!t, it helped flesh out sides of him I had worried wouldn't ever be addressed despite all the bloody mayhem.
