I'm being sassy and skeptical because I hate the idea of live action Zelda, but I genuinely think this movie won't have any serious connection, besides nods and winks, to the actual lore of the series. This regardless of how it'll end up.

I would love the next series to take the narrative into wacky territories while maturing the new gameplay formula into something more grounded and complete. I'm not sure that's what Fujibayashi is interested in, though. Still, I'm very optimistic.

However, I do think it's time for Ganon to take another little nap. I loved Null for EoW, but I need the 3D series to also take a new spin on the villain, and Ganon(dorf) is just too archetypical to allow for much variation. Demise, as much as I appreciated the concept, was still "Ganon" core.

Now, Majora being tied with BotW as my favourite entry in the series, I'd obviously welcome a completely new scenario. Ironically MM was also an asset flip, which doubles down on the *how* being way more relevant than *where*.

I honestly don't particularly care about where or when the next big Zelda will take place, way more so about *how*. I agree that I want something new, different and fresh... But games like WW and TP show how Hyrule can mean very different things.

This particular part of the Zelda timeline that started with Breath of the Wild 8 years ago is coming to an end this week.

My biggest hope for the next Fujibayashi directed Zelda, is that it doesn't take place in Hyrule.

Take Link on an adventure somewhere very different.
