When I was at Medill (last century) as a newspaper major (lol) the greatest aspiration of the broadcast journalism majors was CBS. CBS was where real television reporting happened.
News: Bari Weiss just sent a memo to staffers at CBS News asking them to produce a memo explaining "how you spend your working hours—and ideally, what you've made (or are making) that you're most proud of."

One CBS News staffer puts it like this to me: "We just got Elon Musked."
Are you wondering what BIG KOREAN ENERGY is all about? Why everything around you is somehow suddenly very, very Korean? Check out our new season of The Mash-Up Americans wherever you get your pods. Thanks to @angryasianman.bsky.social for celebrating my gold medal wins w me 🥇

The world is so brutal. We decided we needed a reminder of what we're fighting for: Ourselves, our stories, and our culture. Anyways, for some Friday fun. K-DRAMATIQUE: Where we ask is this the plot of a k-drama, or real life? Plus, a round of Korean or Not?? @angryasianman.bsky.social ftw.

Chi Ossé is not my rep (sadly) but he reps my kids' school district in Bed-Stuy and he is the real deal. Please let this be true.

💥💥Our podcast When The Wolves Came is a Signal finalist for Best Documentary! It explores the extremist politics that have taken over US evangelical Christianity, and the pastors, congregants, and organizers who are pushing back in favor of a pluralist path. It is, as they say, relevant.
The podcast "When The Wolves Came", about evangelicals resisting extremist politics, is a finalist for Best Documentary in the 4th Annual Signal Awards.

THE NEW YORKER 10D
Q. In terms of human rights, I've always found it a little bit puzzling, given what you write, and given who your wife is, that you two were so close to Henry Kissinger. Of all the pre-Trump political figures in America, he is the one I think of as in some ways the opposite of liberal, given his behavior toward the rest of the world.

A. I'll tell you a story. I wrote a book a few years ago on Star Wars. We invited Dr.
Kissinger to my Star Wars book party, and he said, "You wrote a book about Star Wars? Why'd you write a book about Star Wars?" He was puzzled and courteous, but really confused. And then he came to the book party, which was quite generous. He was a busy person. Q. Well, the next time someone brings up a terrible anecdote about Cambodia or Vietnam, I will definitely drop the Star Wars story to show that people have two sides.

A. Yeah. And I get those who think you shouldn't be friends with someone who did terrible things. I hear that. I can just say that he was, as a very large number of people would say, though many fewer would say it publicly, an extraordinarily generous friend.
