I'd expand this to funding ANYTHING on crowdfunding sites. There's a reason why there are whole YouTube channels dedicated to exposing crowdfunding scams. Even just a few months ago an indie game from a seemingly reputable indie toy company turned out to be really shady.

That so many people cancelled their Disney subscriptions when Kimmel was censored is a start, but the lack of movement on Apple subscriptions following their protection of ICE agents and capitulation to Trump is incredibly sad.

Its important to note that he only did this cause of pressure, he personally does not care about trans people. Like many politicians Newsom is rather spineless, if you pressure him hard enough he will do some good things. Also as Tilly pointed out in a reply he veto'ed some other ones.

And just to really be clear; puritan culture is not the solution ever, I encourage you to engage with art that contains harmful elements, just dont engage uncritically and maybe listen when marginalized people are discussing its issues. Dont just do "thing bad or thing good", it can be both.

It's also frankly grossly negligent in this moment to pretend that "just let other people like things" is a good argument, I think letting people uncritically enjoy bigotry is part of how we got here. TBC you can enjoy stuff with harmful elements(everyone does) but you cant deny the bigoted elements
